Luau or Hoop de Doo

After many years and visits to WDW we are looking to try something different . I am planning our trip next March and I am trying to decide between The HDD or the new Luau.
We have three liitle ones ages 8, 5, 1 .
My 8 year old I am sure would love the corny jokes at HDD .
My 5 year old is a huge Lilo fan and I am sure would get into the Luau.
I am looking for some responses of recent visits to help in the decision. (food , comfort etc)

I am wondering if the luau would be more fun for the little ones and it is very active .......all those dancers doing their thing........hahaha......the food I enjoyed too.......yummy

I vote for Hopp Dee Doo! It is so much fun and the food is pretty good too (not gourmet). I think the kids would love it!

Another vote for the Hoop Dee Doo. It's a very 'active' show with lots of noise and entertainment for the kids. It's one of my favorites particularly becuase you get to play a washboard during the show not to mention the dessert (strawberry shortcake, yum!). We've only done the luau once and a very long time ago when it was the 'family' one hosted by Minnie. I don't remember being all that thrilled with the food but my younger sister (around 8 at the time) did learn how to hula. I'm not even sure they still have the family luau anymore but the HDD is one of the best dinner shows ever (in my opinion )! Good luck deciding!

I vote for Hoop-Dee-Doo. The audience really gets involved. My kids loved being served out of pails! And the washboard at the end of the program is alot of fun. The show is really good...my family really likes it.

I've been to the Luau and wasn't nuts about it. The show was good but I didn't like the food. I'd go with the Hoop Dee Doo. We've been to this show several times, it's a fun show with good food. We took our daughter in May (she was 22 months old) and she absolutely loved the show. She was clapping and dancing and she sings Hoop dee doo, hoop dee doo and she wants to go back!

We did the Luau 10 days ago.. our kids were bored to tears.. it was actually a painful experience.. you will have so much fun at Hoop Dee Doo... don't miss out!

That could have been me! I almost fell asleep at the Luau. We are trying Hoop Dee Doo next year!

Haven't tried the Luau but I loved the Hoop de Doo.
The kids were 8 and 10 at the time. While we waited for seating they were moaning and complaining, "this won't be fun, we won't like the food. ugh how boring this will be".

Once the show started it was non-stop laughing and to this day (over 3 years later) they still talk about it and can't wait to go again this Jan.

It was a great way to wrap up the day.

Both and the little ones I've seen look like they are having a better time at HDDR. Been to Luau 3 times and HDDR 12+ that is what I observed, both are good shows,we like HDDR better though.
