A lady I work with just told me that her son (who will be in Disney World in March) is going to a "luau" that included the Lion King characters and the food would include a roasted pig buried in a roasting pit????

I've never heard of anything like this....the only thing I can think of is the Polynesian Luau--Spirit of Aloha.

Am I crazy or do you think he's mistaken???

They are staying with the silver plan when they go, so I'm sure they may have booked a dinner show....but....what else could it possibly be??

Anyone have any idea??

It sounds like what she is describing is indeed the Poly Luau. Mickey and Minnie used to be at the Luau, but they're no longer there. I think your co-worker might be getting the Luau confused with something else her son was describing (maybe the Festival of the Lion King?). Hmmm.....

Sounds like she is confused. If there was a luau with a real pig roasting and Lion King characters I would be first in line!

Sounds like someone will be very disappointed if that is what they are expecting from the luau! Definitely some confusion going on.. Let us know what she says!

Disney's Spirit of Aloha dinner show does not include any characters at all.
Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom includes a fire/knife juggler similar to those present at many luaus.
