Why is LTT more popular than Crystal Palace? The characters? The food? The atmosphere?

I was able to get ressies for Crystal Palace before MNSSHP instead of LTT. Should I keep trying to change to LTT?

Two, possibly three reasons...

LTT opened up for PS first...months ago so everyone booked it.

The characters dress up in costumes (really just a mask).

The location of LTT; it's further into MK and not near Main street.

But I think the food is better at CP and I'm happy to be eating there this year.

I've never eaten @ LTT for one reason - I prefer to choose my own food. LTT is served family style and the menu sounds like the same things we have at home all the time. The selection at CP is outstanding as is the quality of the food. We always eat @ CP's and have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. It's great to eat with Pooh and the gang, nothing against the Mice, I just prefer to eat with them @ CM's. I don't know why LTT is so popular, it must be good or people wouldn't flock there. I also know you can't go wrong with CP's.

Good luck:wave:

My last visit to WDW in August, I had dinner at both Crystal Palace and LTT. My experience:

LTT: We were seated within around 5 minutes of our arrival, which was about 5 minutes before our scheduled PS. The characters were fairly great, but fairly common (Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Meeko) with Meeko being the primary one that was not easy to see elsewhere. The restaurant is fairly small and so the characters made the rounds around every 1/2 hour. The food was great although you don't have as big of a selection as a buffet. (Turkey, Ham and beef with various trimmings) I felt like we had a healthy meal. The dining room was also nice with the rooms fairly small and comfortable. We were in and out within one hour.

Crystal Palace: Again we arrived around 5 minutes of our scheduled PS, but this time we had to wait over 1/2 hour to be seated. There were 4 characters (Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger and Piglet) with Piglet the only one that we had not seen repeatedly in other parks (although we did see him at MGM Sorcer's Hat one day). I found the food mediocre as did my 12 year old son. Nothing really tasty, but a reasonable selection. But the big problem was that the restaurant is way too large so it took over an hour after seating before we had the first character visit to our table. It was a full 1 1/2 hour after seating before all the characters made the rounds. That made the dining experience 2 hours long; something we did not particularly like.

I still believe that CP is more popular, but PSs may be easier yo get there for the sheer number of them available. Personally, I much prefer LTT for the time factor and food quality.

Thanks for the replies. Good point on the family style at LTT as compared to the buffet at CP. I think I'm happier that we got CP.

CalGal -- I was posting my comments at the same time you did so I wanted you to know I wasn't discounting your comments when I said I was happier with CP. Looks like there's good things to be said about both LTT and CP. I hope our dinner doesn't take 2 hours, however!
