LTT vs. CG for dinner before MNSSHP

From reading through the posts on the Restaurant board, I noticed that LTT seems to be the dining place of choice for nights before MNSSHP, but in trying to book PS reservations at some of the nicer resort restaurants for our trip, I started running out of available nights. :D So I thought about getting the earliest seating for California Grill the night before MNSSHP, and then just hopping on the monorail to get over to MK. But I'd like some advice from the "experts" ... Is this a good way to go, or is LTT the best way to get in a nice dinner and be right there at the MK for the beginning of MNSSHP? LTT is primarily Thanksgiving-inspired cuisine, right?

Thanks in advance for the advice! If anyone is planning on going to MNSSHP on 10/3, I hope to see you there!

we have dined at both; and, i would select LTT simply because as you said you would already be in MK. also, at california grill, you would not want to be rushed. and too, i have read where many folks wear a halloween costume to the party. not real sure i would want to eat at cg in a costume!:p

Glad you pointed that out, because I was thinking the same thing!

I'm not sure how festive I'll get for MNSSHP, but I thought of maybe going as a gypsy, and I can just imagine the faces of the guests at CG if I walk in wearing a bandana, huge hoop earings, dark red lipstick, and a peasant gown! :D

I've done it both ways; eating inside and outside the parks...I prefer eating inside the parks.

If I had a choice, I choose eating at one of the MK restaurants. Either LTT, CP or the Castle.

If I couldn't eat at one of those places, I'd probably eat at Chef Mickey's or some other monorail resort pretty early so I don't miss any part of the party and so I get to the party nice and early!

What about the castle for dinner? I agree that CG is probably a no go with the costume, but if you are looking for food on that caliber, you aren't going to get it at LTT!

The character interaction is a lot of fun, but the food is basically frozen dinner type stuff, with the exception of the salad and bread!

The salad is incredible with a delicious strawberry vinaigraitte, but I thought the meats and sides were just ho hum!
The macaroni & cheese is just Stouffer's frozen, and the stuffing tastes like Stove Top. It was good for my kids, since it is all comfort food.

Sounds like you have an adult trip going - I think the food at the Castle would be much more up your alley.
