Please tell me about Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I was trying to get LTT for dinner but only lunch was available so I took it, but now am wondering what it's like.

Thanks in advance!

We've only eaten there for lunch-- the first time, we walked up and got a table after a 10-15 minute wait. We liked it so next trip we made an ADR.

The food was better the first trip (maybe we were hungrier and it was a "novelty" of sorts since it was our first time, but our food was barely warm our second time). It is a relatively quiet place to eat compared to a lot of bustling WDW restaurants. The waitstaff dresses in "period costume" and there are no characters at lunch.

We'd eat there again but it's not at the top of our list. Here's the menu.

In all the years we've gone to Disney we had never been there and decided to try it last year. We had a great lunch. My DH had the Pilgrim's Feast and was in heaven* and I had the turkey panini which I thought was very good on the multigrain bread.

* I have never in 25 years of marriage made a turkey and have no intention of doing so. I don't especially like turkey--yeah, I know, I had the turkey panini, but that's different. In any event, DH may have been in heave because he doesn't get turkey very often with all the trimmings! :rotfl2:
But, truthfully, he said it was very, very good.

we always have lunch at LTT - prefer it over dinner, no characters - love the crabcakes, turkey dinner - extra gravy!

The salads, sandwiches and dessert were quite good but there is no theming for lunch as for dinner in this restaurant. For Lunch, it will be a nice spot to kick back and have lunch away from the crowds but there will be no characters or entertainment!

This is one of my favorite places at WDW to have lunch. Once you get seated it is generally calm and quiet and cool. The menu has a nice selection and everything I have had has been good to great. They have fried cheese that is two kinds of cheese, one regular mozzerella sticks and the other is white cheddar that is awesome. Deserts are great as well.

Lunch at the LTT is on my family's list of "must do's" for lunch. Unlike dinner, there are no characters; however, it is usuallya relaxing respite from the park chaos. DD is a pot roast maven and loves the LTT version. I enjoy the Colony salad--it's always fresh and well made.

The only issue we have ever had was the year we had a late, late lunch. We were the last folks served during lunch service. The turkey gravy was a bit thick and gelatinous and the dressing drier than normal. That particular item was obviously sitting around since opening:( On the other hand, service is quite good with frequent drink refills and prompt attention once seated.

Hope you enjoy your visit...:hippie:

The lunch food is better than the stouffer's dinner, but there are no characters. Were you and your husband hoping for a character meal [mine would die a thousand deaths if I tried to drag him to one]?

We tried it on our last trip from recommendations here on the boards and LOVED it. There was something for everyone. The portions were ample. We had a table of 10 and ordered one of every dessert and passed them all around! OMG were they good. It was a nice break in the middle of the day.

We like it too. One of our better lunch spots, I think. Cool, quiet, calm, good food. . .

You have stumbled upon a great meal! The crab cakes and the salad are both excellent. I hope you enjoy your meal. :wizard:

Just went for the lst time in May. We had an ADR and boy was it crowded. Dh and I shared the crab cakes, yummy and we both had the colony salad. I saw the pot roast go by, looked amazing. The next table had the roast beef sandwhich, looked really thin and skimpy on the meat. DH had the ooey gooey pie, good if you like heath bar and I had the apple tart. Boy, can you say delicious. We were fighting over it. A shortbread crusted pot pie with warm apples inside and it came with a side of cinnamon vanilla ice cream. Not even a crumb was left I tell you!! Lol!!

Thank you all for your replies - the food sounds so yummy! Thank you for the menu link. We'll most likely be on the DDP so we'll be trying the crab cakes (well, I will be since DH does not do seafood - not an allergy, just doesn't like seafood). And we'll definitely do dessert! The Colony Salad sounds delicious!

We really wanted to do a character dining - so I'll still be trying, who knows we might get lucky!

Thanks again!

Mark me down as another one who loves LTT at lunch! Although I understand that they no longer serve the William Penn Pasta, it was awesome, but I always like their turkey dinner, and DH is a pot roast fan.

I also understand that the pound cake is also no longer served - but that apple thing somebody mentioned up there sounds heavenly!
