LTT and MNSSHP?

I noticed a lot of you prefer eating at LTT before MNSSHP. Could you give me some advice or pros/cons to doing this. I have my tickets for Oct 10 and will be with DH and DSs ages 5 & 7.
We've never been to MNSSHP and the kids have never been to WDW! We are staying in our camper at Ft Wilderness.

Pros:

Being in the park while it's closed (although you can be in Tomorrowland while the park is closed with everyone else who entered the park early)...

Having a good meal with the characters and the characters are dressed in costumes too...

Location: there is a photo stand right outside LTT and LTT is right near a trick or treat stand and very near the Haunted Mansion.

Cons:

I don't know of any Cons unless you don't like LTT restaurant or you just don't feel like eating before the party.

I'm biased, LTT is one of my favourite restaurants!!

I have not yet been to either LTT or MNSSHP, though we are doing both in Oct. So I am not speaking from experience, just offering an opinion. One reason I think many people prefer LTT is that it is one of the two character meals (the other being CP), and seeing the characters is just so much more condusive to the Halloween theme, then just a regular restaurant. I know you can get PS far in advance for LTT, I'm not sure about CP? As for eating in the park rather than out, you are just extending your time (and experience) at the park. I can't wait!
