Lowry Park Zoo

We're going to spend a few days around Tampa after our Disney trip, we have already planned on visiting Busch Gardens for 2 days but we have about a half day "free". I've read that Lowry Park is pretty neat. Would we have enough time to enjoy it with only 3-4 hours ? I know we can't see everything in such a short time so what would you recommend ?

Lowry Park Zoo is fantastic. We have two nice zoos here in Chicago but DD still says Lowry Park is her favorite.

You will NOT have time to see the whole thing in half a day...so I would recommend looking at their map online in advance and picking which section of the zoo you want to visit. If you have young kids, the kiddie area is pretty neat. If your group is older, then the section with the manatees is very cool and something you can't see at a lot of other places.

Thanks Mary ! It's just me & my sister, both adults (sort of ). I think we'll pick the 3 or 4 animals we're most interested in seeing and if we have time for more, good, if not, that'll be fine too. If the zoo is really awesome maybe we'll skip the second afternoon at Busch Gardens and go back.

I love Lowry Park zoo. I actually worked there in the office one summer.

Don't miss the manatees! Especially since if I remeber correctly, your sister loves Sea World...so she'd probably like to see the manatees.

Busch Gardens is fun too.

I guess I'm the only one who didn't really care for Lowry Park Zoo. Although I live in Indy, and we have a great zoo here, so I may just be spoiled. I think it's totally doable in half a day.
