I was wondering if anyone knew what Lowe's employees get for discounts, I heard they get 50% off special orders, is this true?

They really offer more to their employees and employee can check it out by login to myloweslifelogin portal to know special discounts on special orders for them,.

I’m in Canada. My son gets 10%. It doesn’t even cover our sales tax (13%). Curious about America

You guys have an 8% provincial sales tax? That’s steep. I predict the GST will creep up a couple of points in the coming years too - Covid relief has wreaked havoc on the federal budget.

Nope it’s 13% (HST) :( Sadly with these taxes, we cross border shop a lot and save lots of money for my kids back to school shopping. Not this year:sad1:

13 + 5% GST? Whoa! Is cross-border shopping really a deal though at 27% exchange? It’s never been a thing here because the closest US city is Kalispell, Montana, and even that is 5 hours south.

No no, it’s rolled into one tax called HST vs GST and PST now. So yes, 8% is provincial and 5% is federal, I think lol. That’s what it is in Ontario too. I’m not sure why they changed it to harmonized sales tax but it’s been that way for a while now.

Oh, OK - I get it now. There is not provincial sales tax in Alberta - just the 5% GST.
