Lowes and kitchen counter installation??

We were looking at a new kitchen counter and sink ideas at Lowes this morning. Has anyone used Lowes to install something like this? If , were you satisfied? Feel the cost was right? We thinking about the HI-MAC acrylic solid surface brand.

We are in a small town with few choices for something this small. Because it si one cut and you are done, we don't want to be responsible for giving them the measurements and doing it ourselves.

We just completed a total kitchen reno through Lowes (Canada) and used Hi-Mac for our countertop. Love it. The offer at the time was a more expensive colour choice for the b level colour pricing with the sink included. (i think colours c/d or e for the price of b) There was no measuring involved on our part. The Hi-Mac installer came out to measure (templete) & install was less than 2 weeks later. Our counter is an L-shape only 1 seam. Can't even tell where it is.

The only thing I'm still getting use to is the sound of glasses & dishes clinking the top when being placed on the counter. Old counter was laminate & much quieter.

We did ours about 5 years ago and were very pleased. They did a good job and the sink and counter look great. However, there was a problem which wasn't discussed at the beginning and I just assumed they would "handle" as part of the replacement, but I don't remember exactly what it was.

I think they installed the countertop and there was some spacing and I assumed they'd make it look "right," meaning they'd caulk where needed. Apparently, that wasn't included in their replacement estimate or whatever. So, make sure and ask all the seeming little questions that seem evident to you but may not be actually in the contract.

I believe that Lowe's contract these installs out to local installers, so I would think that it will really depend on your particular Lowe's store.
