We like to camp at FW for an extended period of time..usually in the summer and over Xmas. What do you think would be the better deal as far as campsite costs? AAA or AP Best Rate? Thanks. ::MickeyMo

I think you'd be very lucky to get any kind of a discount during peak times such as Christmas. If you have AAA, go ahead and try to get your ressie on that discount. When they release AP discounts, call back and get the new discount if it is lower. We had an AP this past year but didn't get a better rate than using AAA. We went in January, May, and Christmas (stayed off-site as I couldn't get a ressie). I think I paid $35 per nite (on AAA) for a preferred hook up the year before in October and I paid more than that in January and May which I think were both value seasons as well (used my AP)

Does anyone know what the AP rate would be for a preferred site starting either 4/23 or a little earlier like 4/20 or 4/21?

We don't have APs this year, and there is no way for me to check myself, right?

Right now we have the AAA rate booked for 4/23. I believe it's 15% discount.

You can call WDW to see if they have an AP rate available for your stay. They don't require proof of AP at time of reservation. This is spring break time so you may already have the best deal you're gonna get. If they say there is not an AP rate available, make sure you ask if the AP rates have been released for your travel dates yet. Sometimes they just say "not available" but don't tell you they haven't been released yet. Then if you get the AP rate you will have to have a valid AP at check in. Not sure how you do this thru mail as we went to Downtown Disney to get an activated AP.

I got a full hookup for the 4/23-29 with the AAA discount it came to $56 a night.

I thought you had to have the AP or voucher now in order to check AP rates. I found it difficult to sort through the information on the resorts board, and I'm really confused!

I booked a regular rack room rate of $65/night for March 25-April 2 on a partial hook-up. Checked my AP rate and it was $76 for a full hook-up that week, not a partial rate offered.
