Low rise jeans are not for everyone!

It doesn't matter what size someone is they still need to wear the right size and not create more rolls. My rolls come naturally and I do my best to hide them from the world. I don't get why someone would want everyone to see theirs. :confused3

I don't get how a guy can find a piece of string up a girl's butt attractive either.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Right there with you on this one. My Dh teaches college and he says he is amazed how many girls were them. He knows because he can see them sticking out of their pants and they try to readjust them while attempting to do a Chem lab at the same time. ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Even if they were more comfortable I couldn't wear one because my 4 year old DD sees my underwear all the time and I couldn't explain why it can where them, and she can't. (although she has never questioned the whole bra thing. :confused3 )

My SIL likes to say"Just because they make it in your size DOES NOT mean you should wear it."
YES, YES, YES!!!!
I agree with that 100%. I am a plus size and it amazes me when I go shopping sometimes and see what they have to offer in plus sizes. They are things that should not and will not ever go on THIS plus size body, that's for sure.

And it's not an issue of confidence. I am confident. However I am smart enough to realize and admit that there are just certain things that I cannot and should not wear.

You have to dress in a manner that best accentuates your positives and downplays your negatives. Not just randomly follow any old trend that pops up.

Trust me if you do that you will look better and feel better. And what could be more confidence building than that?

And people wonder why girls are becoming anorexic and bulimic younger and younger these days. :guilty:
Anorexia and bulimia are very serious problems for young girls that's true. However more and more these days obesity is also becoming a serious problem as well, and it is just as dangerous. It can cause an enormous amount of health and emotional problems just as the other two can.

Teens are under more and more stress these days and for some of them food is becoming their drug of choice. It's easy to get, cheap, and can give a quick "high" or feeling of relief or comfort.

Everyone is talking about the cosmetic appearance of being overweight but for alot of teens it goes deeper than that. Anorexia and bulima are merely symptoms of a much deeper problem. So is obesity.

Very true and well said. :sunny:

NO ONE should be wearing them! Pleeeeeeeeease tell me they're going out! There's nothing worse when I'm shopping, ie, the food store, and someone is bent over looking for something on a knee height or lower shelf. Every single person is 1/10 nano-inch away from looking like the proverbial plumber! :earseek: :earseek: No, ladies, I don't want to see the 1/8" above your butt. ACK!

i am also a pear shape, and I love love love Gap curvy fit jeans. Even the Ultra low rise still hits right around my belly button (probably a 5-6 inch zipper). I do have another pair of jeans by a brand called "It Jeans" that have a low rise in the front and a higher rise in the back. They are a much lower rise in the front than my gap jeans (probably a 3-4 inch zipper), so I make sure to wear those with a longer shirt. I still have issues with my booty hanging out though- I don't know if pants are not cut as roomy in the back, or how to fix this. The Gap jeans don't do this as bad.

at the Pa Renn faire I saw a man in costume. When he sat down his very large stomach hung quite a bit lower then his shirt. It was hard not to look. I hope maybe he had a medical problem like a tumor or something.
I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Ladies if you have to pull rolls up to get in your pockets, please don't try low rise jeans. This public service announcement was brought to you by iwantahemi.

AMEN! I often times wonder what the heck these girls are thinking! Surely they can't be comfortable and surely they can't think they look good. I know I shouldn't wear them and I don't!

to quote my dear freinds RickinNYC and Billiesotherdad... " Look its a Muffin top" LOL

I was in the local high school recently and I couldn't believe how many girls were wearing the low rise jeans and short shirts so their stomachs stuck out..only problem was that they were NOT thin enough to be wearing that...all you saw was rolls of fat sticking out...

My DD, who is a little on the chunky side, gets her low risers at Old Navy. They have an excellent selection of different levels of low risers. DD can be stylish without being vulgar or offensive.

My favorite low rise jeans are old navy. :cool1: :cool1: I may have a muffin top, but it keeps covered. ;) I like the ON range of sizes, and I really like my favorite pair are now size 6. :cool1: (still doing a little dance over that one, but I am supepcting they were miss marked. Still love the way they fit regardless of the lable.) :goodvibes

I am torn now because of the whole .01 cent bathing suit fisasico. Not happy with ON customer service. Still like the jeans. :flower:

Ah the Camel Toe long live the toe LOL. There is even a website dedicated to it I am not going to post the link but I am sure everyone here can figure it out.

I've seen that site! It's hilarious! Not to mention gross.

Might I suggest to those who are seeking trendy pants that don't show your goodies to the world, to check out Banana Republic?

Their pants fit me like a glove and are low in the waist, but cover the crack. They aren't cheap, but once you find what size fits you best, you can find them on eBay.

I LOVE this thread! LOL! For low-rise jeans that are not too trendy (or too low), I second the votes for Lands End! Their jeans are made to fit a woman's body, not a teen's. They have low rise stretch with flare leg that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! I also buy my pants from Ann Taylor and Banana Republic which are a little more trendy and hip than Lands End, but still keep me covered. But I do still get that gap around my hips even though the pants fit everywhere else. What is up with the gap?? Anyone know how to get rid of it besides always having to keep a belt on?
