Low resale contracts

I recently saw some resale contracts that almost seem too low. BWV 100 pts for $118 pp and AKV 100 pts for $108 pp. Is it possible that they would sell that low? It almost seems like it would be a waist of time beginning the process just for them to be taken by Disney. Would you bid on these?

Hmmm, I would on the AKV. I recently had a 180 pt contract pass ROFR at $100/pt. It may be worth a try?

I sold a 150 contract at BWV in the spring for $115. So, yes, I think there is a chance those could pass ROFR,

That is the thing...you never know what DVD will take Vs. let pass so it’s always worth a try,

But, those prices are in what I consider the range of having a chance.

No one knows what Disney is going to take back right now or not. It's worth taking a shot at these contracts if you want. Those contracts seem a little on the low side (not knowing what their point situation looks like), but they're not so far out of range that they 100% aren't going to pass.

Personally not sure I would even pay that for AKV. I would want AKV I think for $105 or less. Just keep buying and Disney can take it or not.

I would never really worry about pricing being low on high volume resorts. Now if it were a VGC maybe you give more than asking to make sure it passes.

I just bought AKL at $106, and it passed ROFR. Not a waste of time for me! I have a cap for what I'm willing to spend on each contract and I'm not bidding above it. (I've been bidding on HHI lately but the sellers all want more money, so I continue to stalk). If you follow the ROFR thread, you can see which contracts are passing. I just saw someone score BRV for like $89/point, which I didn't think would pass, but you never know.

I have 2 contracts pending ROFR right now. I don't expect either to pass but I can hope and eventually when one does I will be happy. 270 pts AKV for $92 a point, full points. 250 BLT $130 a point with fully banked points. Of course if both pass.....gulp

Wow- where did you even see AKL prices that low? (Though I may have missed it since I was already waiting on 300 AKL points). I’m only distracted by smaller contracts for now (until I can save up more money - lol).

I'd give it a go! I just had two 25 point OKW pass at $100 pp and have a 30 point HHI in ROFR at $74 which I expect will pass. Other's here had great deals that passed...nothing saying your contract pops up at DVC the day after they moved on to a different resort. They can't buy all of them!

It was actually an offer I put in a month ago on Vacatia and I never heard a thing, then all of a sudden I received an acceptance. It was up for $105 a point, I offered $92. Same as BLT was $150 and I offered $130. I was surprised both were accepted without a counter.

Well yeah but you hate AKV so maybe not the best sample

Oh right! I remember you wrote that in the ROFR thread. It IS possible those both go through. I don’t think Disney has exercised ROFR on AKL in months, but I haven’t seen a price that low either.

Possible yes but sure hoping not, lol. 3 kids getting braces in 2021 on top of another one who already has them on from this year. Don't want to have to get a mortgage on the house for braces and dvc

Except I don't hate it and I am completely pragmatic at $110/$120 I could get BWV, pay less in due, and then buy AKV in 2042. Heck I could even jump on VWL until 2042 save money now and get AKV likely for a good deal in 2042 when over half the resorts at WDW likely have resale restrictions.

I have actually consistently said AKV is one of the top DVC resorts the sole issue with the resort is location and not being attached to the parks.

In additon outside of going for Value or Club rooms at AKV its an extremely easy hotel to book for SSR or Poly points.

Until the prices went crazy early this year it was one of the best SAP resorts because even staying there is good as long as you budget for a rental car or lyft/Uber. I just believe in buy where you want to primarily stay and I couldn't see staying at AKV for 30 years needing to have personal transportation and not being attached to parks where I will spend a majority of my stay.

I understand! I have one in braces now and another who needs them soon (I’ve been putting off the consultation because of covid and the expense, but it’s going to happen soon now).

For whole family vacations, we drive to FL. The below ground parking at Kidani is wonderful when you have a car! Plus that extra bathroom in the 1/2 bedrooms can be a life saver with four kids.

Our first one was our special needs daughter....15k so far with more to come. Thankfully we are Canadian so at least she was covered 75% by a special program through sick kids hospital.

U have 4 kids as well?? We don't drive normally because the three girls and the wife then hate me. It actually costs about the same as flying between the rental, food and gas to do drive there and obviously it's better to fly then drive for 24 hours straight. We only do that for Christmas when flights cost too much. We actually stay at AKV in 2 weeks for the 1st time so we will get to see what it is like. Jambo value studio

Thanks for everyone's replies! I would bid on the BWV but someone beat me to it! I guess I just had "to good to be true" panic, but next time I'll jump at a low point contract!
