Low Minivan Rates

Has anyone gotten what they consider to be a low weekly minivan rate lately? I have stopped checking because no company has come close to the $256 tax inclusive rate I got from Budget. I was just wondering if I should start checking again.

Our travel dates are 10/23-30

It's driving me crazy..my rate in the beginning of dec is $290 per week...OUCH!!!

Try using code au02 at thrifty.com. It got me $169.00/week in october. Got the code off of this board and Mousesavers.com. Hope it works for you.

I priced your dates using Thrifty code AU02 and it comes out total price $215.01 for a Dodge Caravan. That's the best I've found anywhere.

Gosh, I hate taking a shuttle when there are so many rental agencies in the airport, but I just got us an 8 day reservation at Thrifty using the AU02 code for only $258! I made a reservation with Alamo back in Jan. for $356 using an Ent. coupon. I think the shuttle ride and hopefully the shorter line with be worth saving $100! Boy, do I love these boards!!

We just used Thrifty for the first time on our last trip and we were very pleased with the experience. The shuttle ride is not bad. My DH actually got to Thrifty, picked up the car, and got back to the terminal before our luggage arrived. We had reserved a Dodge Intrepid but they were out of them. Clerk at Thrifty asked DH if he wanted a Ford Taurus instead. My DH said no because we had had problems with that type of car before. Clerk offered to upgrade us to a Dodge Grand Caravan at no additional cost. DH, of course, said yes. We ended up paying less for the mini-van than the full-size, $371.00 for 17 days. The full-size was reserved at $375.00 for 17 days. No problems with the added insurance as the clerk never mentioned it. Would definitely recommend that you join their Blue Chip program as you get a special line to wait in and no hassles about insurance. You can do this through the Thrifty website.

Thanks for the Thrifty review, jiminy14. We are a group of 7 and hope to end up with the Grand Caravan also (it's what we drive at home!). I think we will stay together to pick up the rental, it will be 10pm and I don't think DH will want to come back to MCO and try and find us! We are staying at a Clarion that 1st night, 2.5 miles from Thrifty- I was able to print out a map and directions right from their website!
