Low Alamo rate for March

Interesting experience with Alamo today. Please note: all searches were done going through Costco site to Alamo and using one free day coupon and pricing a mid size car. We're currently planning to go 3/8-3/17. Car rental rates have been through the roof, so today I decided to see what it might cost if I did the rental for just one week - 3/10-3/17. The price came at just over $300. Then I tried 3/11-3/17 and was thrilled to get it for about $216. I figured I can live with that. Take ME on the 8th, then pick up car on the 10th and have it for the rest of the week. Just for Haha's, I put in 3/8 (3PM)-3/17 (7pm). Imagine my surprise when it came in at $270. Then for more fun I decided that maybe we could fly down Sunday night so I put in 3/7 (8PM)-3/17 (7PM) $260.85.
$260.85 - 10 day rental - mid size! I'm Happy with that!

Good for you! I have a similar issue. When I book for a full week, my rate is higher than when I book for a week + 4 hours (which adds an extra day). Weird, but I'll take it! Who would have thought taking a later flight would actually save me money! (until I have the extra day to spend at MK!)

Found the same thing happen with February (also through Costco - we are members). Keep checking - I had it do down $25 in one day. I will continue to check through the next month! It may go down even more (we are now at $197 for a 9 day rental)
