Loving coranado!

After many deluxe stays we are currently splitting a stay between Coranado and Beach Club for New Years. I am absolutely loving the Coranado. The theming is fantastic, the atmosphere is very relaxed and transportation has been working out very well. It's been such a wonderful start to our vacation and I would not hesitate to visit this resort again!

Just returned from our stay at Coronado. We loved it too! Kids loved the pool, landscaping is beautiful, and we discovered Las Ventanas! Ate there twice (B+L) and it was great both times. Quiet restaurant with great staff and even better food. Definitely a well-kept secret IMO.

We have also stayed a bunch of times at CSR and have made the Mods our families go to resorts. We have not given up totally on the deluxes but, for us, and the $$$ saved for not that much more difference from deluxes has won us over.

What section are you staying in? Just curious, because we will be at that resort for the first time next month.

We requested and are staying in the cabana section because I had read a lot about it being a great spot for families with children. While this area is convenient to the main pool, I think next time we would probably request the casita area because it is so pretty with all of the fountains and water features. I do not find the resort size to be overwhelming like I had read. I think any area of the resort would be great!

Glad you are enjoying it, I do split stays with the first night or two at a moderate then move over to a deluxe for the rest of my stay. I stayed at CSR in Sept. and while I enjoyed it, I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I went to high school in NM and my heart lies in the SW (my body lives in Georgia where my roots are) so I did love the theming.

We greatly enjoyed our stay there as well. We stayed in a "business class" room. Had no idea what it was about as it was a very last minute "grab a room" type visit. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is very close to main area, very much like Club level with food and drinks and we enjoyed it so much we stayed 2 xtra nights. We then returned for another visit. I think we d only stay Business room as it is s large resort. The other thing I noticed were large groups/convention types and lots of smoking which was a real turn off for us.

It is definitely my mod of choice! Although, I preferred the business class rooms and I thought I read somewhere that The category is going away.

Glad you are having a great time! I've had many wonderful stays at CSR. My sister fell ill one trip (had to go to the hospital by ambulance) and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We had added one night to a long stay, and they let us keep those 2 rooms for the whole trip even though they were an upgrade over what we had booked for the rest of the trip. The manager called to check on us and see if there was anything they could do to help. I can't wait to see the rooms after the refurb.

I loved Coronado too! So beautiful and calm and peaceful. We stayed in a "water view" room in June 2015. Normally I would have just booked a standard view but it was a last minute trip and none were available when I booked. We got a room in Casitas 4 facing the lake and we only had to step out our door to have a perfect view of the fireworks each night. My sons (ages 9 and 11 at the time) loved the pool too.
Definitely my favorite moderate, and I like it more than some of the deluxes I've stayed at too.

We stayed in the Ranchos section and I loved the theming. So cool. I felt like I was on vacation! When I stayed at POR, I felt like I was at home. The pool slide was awesome!!!!
