AAA has given these great resorts a 3 star rating - I think this is an outrage against them.

all the Epcot resorts (even the nonDisney resorts) were given a 4 star rating.

This seems to me to be a person who does not like the darker rooms of these 3 resorts. This is not a good enough reason to only give 3 stars - these hotels are great and deserve a 4 star.

What do you think?

I have send an email to AAA - they are sending me information - if it includes an address to complaint to - who would be willing to write an enforcement for these 3 beautiful resorts or any one of them?

I agree with you completely. It seems a little strange. :( They deserve at least a 4 star too - especially with the pools and activities. What is the email address?

AAA has certain guidlines that resorts must meet to get their star ratings. It could have something to do with amenities, location or who knows. Maybe it has to do with Tennis courts or noise!! In any case they have to keep to their guidelines in order to be consistant. I have been surprised at some AAA ratings amd in looking into it found that they were missing something simple that took the place down a notch.

I agree with the previous poster. AAA star ratings depend on checklists and little if at all on judgement or evaluation of quality. Having these resorts grouped together with every Hampton Inn in the country tells us a lot about the utility of the AAA ratings and nothing about these resorts. (BTW I like Hampton Inns.)

However it's hard to guess what is missing from their checklists. AKL and WL do have smaller rooms than other deluxe resorts, but the Polynesian has larger rooms than the Epcot resorts. They all offer large, beautiful lobbies, concierge service, nice sit-down restaurants, valet parking, and recreation.

That seems very strange to me. I would love to see an explanation for their ratings. We just got back from AKL and it was so wonderful in everyway!!

JMO, but AAA is to hotel ratings like Chef Boy-ar-dee is to restaurant critics! I pay no attention to AAA's ratings because the "judges" are too stuck to a specific checklist of items. Got all the items, you get their "stars." Wowie-zowie!

I would be more concerned about ratings by more reputable organizations whose staff use their grey matter when rating a hotel rather than a clipboard and checklist.

Humm... Maybe disney gives better discount to attract more people to these resorts. I see another vacation in this year's forcast.

Hmmm... WL was a 4 diamond when they first opened and for a few years after that. I wonder why/when they lowered it?

Who cares about AAA? WL was listed as one of the top 100 hotels in the world by Travel and Leisure Magazine.
