what are dde cards? as dvc members can we purchase the meal tickets even though we are not buying a package, I have ap.

Currently, no, DVC members can not add a meal plan to their stay. Rumors are that they are negotiating a plan for the near future. Annual Passholders also can not add the meal plan to their room discounts.

The DDE is a discount card that entitles the member to 20% off breakfast, lunch and dinner at virtually all Disney owned full service and buffet restaurants (including alcoholic beverages), you must be a FL resident or AP holder to get the DDE.

Cost is $75 for one year for FL residents who are not AP holders, and $50 to all AP holders regardless of residency.

The DDE is also good at counter service locations at AK, All Stars, and Pop Century...since there are no full service restaurants at these locations.

DDE is a special card that you can purchase you are an AP holder for $50 (normally priced at $75 for Florida residents only) that gets your table 20% off meals at TONS of restaurants at WDW. It is good for up to 10 people per card for the discount. Do a search on DDE - there are a bunch of threads on it that give links to the lists of restaurants that offer the discount as well as the phone number for ordering it.

There currently is no dining package for those of us staying on points (although the rumor is that one is coming) and if you are staying with cash, it must be purchased as part of a package deal, for everyone in your party and for every day you of your package.

I purchased and used the DDE card for the first time as an AP holder on my last trip (Jan 12-20) and we saved a lot of money as a group of 7 (10 on 2 occasions). My next trip will also be with 7-9 people and will save even more money. Best $50.00 I have ever spent!!!
