We just got back, 4 nights at wdw CSR resort, 3 nights at wdw AKL resort, and 2 nights at RPR at universal. Universal knocked our socks off! If we hadn't been so gosh darned tired after our wdw portion of the trip, it would have been even better. Express pass rocks, the mass quantity of rides in one place rocks, I loved the 3d ones too.. So that was no biggie. The employees might have been a little less than magical. By the time the chatty (with each other) girls at Ben and Jerry's took our order I was about to shove my ice cream in one of their faces! Cleanliness wasn't up to disney standards... Toilets were peed on (how is this possible ladies?) or out of tp, or the stalls didn't lock often... But the rides made up for it. Pluto's bilge rats or whatever it is called is what Kali wants to be when it grows up! Rides seemed longer than disney, the theming was great... And thank you for all the misting areas... Even on the rides, nearly all of them spray you at some point... So nice on the crazy hot days we experienced! Our family (dh, dd 9, and I) had such a blast, if we returned to orlando the bulk of our trip would be at universal!

We once split a trip between AKL and RPR and I think that it was my favorite trip ever. Both resorts were amazing and we had a blast.

I'm glad that you had a good trip.

Actually CSR was my fave resort of the three... But universal killed disney for us. We are DL vets, and this was our 1st trip to orlando. If I could transplant Orlando's universal next to DL, that would be my piece of heaven!

Toilets were peed on (how is this possible ladies?)

Some women "hover", due to a paralyzing fear of toilet seat cooties.

Of course, then they just contribute to the problem by making messes on the seat...

And these are usually the same people who don't think twice about using handrails that everyone's touched, sitting their behinds down in seats on rides that everyone's been on, and who don't even think to disinfect their fingers before rubbing their ichy nose, wiping their watery eyes, eating snacks, etc... :rolleyes2

Basically, some people are idiots.

Glad you enjoyed your trip! Can't wait for ours. :)

Isn't this why they provide seat covers? It was so gross... Hubby was trying to say it was little boys going in with their moms... But I would think moms would clean up after them. I am sure it happens at wdw too, but I think they are more on top of the bathroom cleaning over there. Didn't stop us from enjoying the darkside though! Just grossed us out a little!

Yes, it's exactly why they provide seat covers or you can just put down a layer of toilet paper (as I have sometimes done in dodgy-looking restrooms), but those women are typically afraid the cooties will crawl up through the paper.

I always want to put up offical looking signs stating that scientists have just discovered cooties can fly, so hovering won't save you... :lmao:

Rofl!

Alright alright...you women have given me a mental picture I do NOT want to think about! :headache:

Glad you had a good time...except for the bathroom experience of course. :thumbsup2

Moving to the Trip Reports board.

Wow! Great testimony! I can't wait for our upcoming trip. 3 weeks from today!

Don't even consider doing the 3 wet rides without ponchos, unless you can waddle back to your room soaked to change... We were so hot, we rode jurassic first (loved it!) front row... Yeah, we looked like we went swimming with our clothes on. So what the hell.. Did the other two and jurassic again... We were dripping wet walking back to RPR when the skies opened up and monsooned on us... We laughed all the way back to the room!

We completely avoid the bilge rat barges unless we want to be drenched. We learned the hard way that that is not a ride to enjoy on a cool day!

By the way, it could be that some of those wet restroom seats come from people who have been on the water rides.

Great to hear all the good bits. We'll have our first Universal trip this year, sandwiched by 2 visits to Disney. Can't wait

Universal customer service called me today, nice girl and Oregon native, so I could make a report about the lousy employees at Ben and Jerry's (I said cold stone earlier, but have corrected it!). She was super nice and is reporting the sitch to management. Makes me love universal even more!

I actually noticed wet toilet seats at both WDW and Universal. I really think most of it comes from the flushing. Those toilets have some strong flushing and I always noticed some spray from them.

I noticed backsplash too... but bright yellow is pee!

I would still go back to Universal... peed on toilet seats and all!
