Hi all,

I took my DD(8) to a special viewing of The Princess and the Frog in New York City yesterday and it was awesome!!!! What a great movie. :worship:It has all the magic of Disney and great imagineering!! I think they have a hit!!! After the movie at this exclusive screening we went to a meet and greet with all of the Disney Princesses including Princess Tiana. We had an amazing day and I highly recommend that you all go to see this movie on December 11th. Enjoy!

Words cannot express how bad I wish I was there with you.

SO glad to hear it was amazing!

Glad you had fun! We're going next week and I can't wait.

Question -- did they make you check your camera at the movie theater? I want to take pictures at the after-event but and am trying to decide whether to bring my old or new camera.

First.. totally jealous! Second, glad to hear this return to the classic animated movie did not disappoint! I love the Pixar movies, but miss these. DD and really got pumped to see this movie after seeing and being in Tiana's Showboat Jubilee. Can't wait until Dec. 11!

We saw a screening in No VA last month and also loved it. Certainly 2 thumbs up from us!! :thumbsup2

A warning, though. The scary parts are pretty scary, or were for my 6 y.o. Think twice about taking a timid child to the big screen version. That doesn't mean you can go yourself...:rotfl:

We also took or DD on Saturday to see the movie. Disney did not dis appoint. LOVED IT. It was a great event. I think I have a new favorite disney carachter....RAY . Just wanted to hug him. and the music is lively.

I will post pictures of the disney experience after the movie as soon as I can figure it out.:cheer2:

Oh no! We were planning on taking our 2.5 yo DD to this. It would be her first movie on the big screen. But she can get pretty scared. I guess we will try to go and if she gets scared, we will leave! Not a big deal. She is so excited about seeing it!

Yes they do take your camera on your way into the theater and it is returned to you on your way out before heading to the Roseland Ballroom. FYI they will require you give them a photo ID like your drivers' license. You will be able to take pics with all of the princesses and I mean they are ALL there but no autographs. They do give out a card that has all of their autographs on it. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy!!!

Hmm....I got passes to a sneak peek of this in my hometown. Wonder if there will be characters there......Anyone else go to a sneak peek somewhere other than NYC and seen the princesses??

The princess experience is in NYC and LA only. Which is why tickets were so much.

We are going Sunday and cant wait.

My wife is concerned about how our culture (Louisiana) will be displayed in the movie.. she hates it when a movie depicts anyone from "down south" as being ignorant. She is worried about one of the characters in particular.. who supposedly has a "down the bayou" accent.. I believe it is one of the main character frogs??

From all of the reviews that I have read and after watching just about every preview that I could find, I don't think you have anything to be worried about. Tiana is bright and driven, Louis is a talented jazz musician (who just happens to be an alligator), and I think the real ode to New Orleans, besides the beautiful scenery, is the music. Judging from the reviews and this interview, it sounds like Randy Newman is due for another Oscar nomination with this film.

Glad to hear that Ray was a favorite - I enjoyed his few scenes from the trailers.

We are going on Saturday in NYC. I cannot wait! Can you tell me more about the Princess after party? Pictures would be fantastic!

Well we are obviously going to check it out.. no matter her concerns... after all.. it is DISNEY!!!

I'd love to hear more about the advanced screening too!

Time mag just had a great review of the film. Seems like critics are loving this one :cool1:

The Princess and the Frog, which opens Wednesday in New York and Los Angeles, and Dec. 11 in the rest of the country, is a start-to-finish delight. It proves that 2-D can be more than 3-D, when gifted filmmakers put old-fashioned snap back into animation. The lines are freer here, the character movements more supple, the sense of fun unfettered. The movie is a triumph for its directors and co-writers, John Musker and Ron Clements — the guys who jump-started Disney's cartoon renaissance with The Little Mermaid in 1989 and created a whole new world with the 1992 Aladdin.
