We were in cabin 2772 from Dec. 17th - 24th. We really loved them! It was so nice having the space to spread out and the fridge to keep some beverages and food cold. The double bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable! My son slept on the murphy bed and thought it was comfy. I slept there one night and much preferred the bed in the bedroom but it wasn't bad. Loved having the two TV's and we adapted to the lack of storage space for our clothes really well. My husband initially thought we didn't have enough towels upon check in but thanks to recently reading another DISers report I said there were probably plenty of towels in the cupboard (and there were).
I wish the cabin had had a washer & dryer but I knew ahead of time that it didn't. The only problem we encountered, and this was a small one, was we had bought bacon and eggs to fix breakfast one morning. I didn't have the print out with me of what was supposed to be furnished in the kitchen but I thought there was supposed to be a skillet. Our cabin didn't have one and upon returning home I see that it was supposed to be there. I cooked the bacon in the microwave and scrambled the eggs in a saucepot but it wasn't non-stick and was hard to clean. It was great having the mousekeepers wash our dishes each day. I unloaded the dishwasher at night. We didn't get any towel animals but I know that's never guaranteed.
We had a golf cart reserved for 5 of our 7 days but ended up keeping it just 2 days and returned it. Should have returned it after the first day because the second day it just sat at our cabin pretty much all day. Our first two days without the cart I thought it seemed essential. But by the time we got the cart we had figured out the bus system and decided it worked just as well and it wasn't worth the cost to use the cart only once or twice a day. The one day we really used the cart we enjoyed running around in it a lot though.
As for why we didn't fall in love with FW, none of us felt like we were at Disney when we were there. The privacy was great in the cabin but the campground was kind of confusing to navigate. My teens enjoy exploring the different resorts we stay at but I didn't feel comfortable letting them take off on a bus somewhere. Also there were too many things that just made me think of being at home and when I'm on vacation I like total escape from reality! Like for instance all the Christmas decorations people had out, many of those same things my neighbors had in their own yards at home so it reminded me of being there. Stupid, I know, but that's how I felt. The boat transportation to MK was great but having to take a bus from there to the cabin kind of cancelled out the benefit of the boat.
We did enjoy very much visiting the horse barn. That was so cool. And we love eating at Trails End. Our arrival night we were supposed to go to the campfire but we got delayed a bit and lost trying to find our way from the grocery store to FW so it ended up being too late.
Overall we all agreed we liked FW once and are glad we tried it but we wouldn't want to stay there again.
I know FW is a big favorite on this board so please don't blast me for my opinion!
