Loved the Bayshore Marathon

Just back from running the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City MI. It was a stunning course that was incredibly well run. I think at least 4 stations with Gu and chomps, and lots of water stations. The course ran almost entirely on the bay with beautiful views the entire course. It was very flat and we had perfect weather.

Just wanted to put a plug in for an awesome race for anyone looking to run a small to midsize marathon, (they also have a half and 10k that sell out very quickly) in the upper midwest. The town and surrounding areas of Traverse City were beautiful as well with lots of wineries and great places to eat and shop.
Now to decide on this one again or Big Sur next spring....

I'm trying to talk my friends into running Big Sur with me next year. They definitely want to do it once, but they keep saying, "sometime... I don't know about next year..." Lol

Its good to share that. A lot of the time people who are coastal think that coastal marathons and halfs are best. We never think of inland states....I am always checking out what races are along the East and West side of America as well as Hawaii.

I have checked out Colorado and Las Vegas but never considered a place like Michigan.

I did the Bayshore 10k last weekend with my sister and I totally agree! It is a great race right along the water for almost the whole course (at least for the 10k) and not crowded. Fairly flat and fast.

We do the 10k every year. My family has a place up there on a nearby lake. Northern Michigan in summer is beautiful!
