At Animal Kingdom. We had never seen this before as we never went to Camp Minnie/Mickey (now that dd is 3 it was a must). Happened to stumble upon the Festival and, Wow!! What a great show. I was so impressed with it. Sorry we only got to see it once.

I agree!! This was my favorite ride/attraction of my entire trip!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I agree. It's an absolutely amazing show...the colors, the costumes, the dancing, the music!! It's like a mini broadway show! Everyone needs to see it. I just love it!

I agree it is one of the best at AK. There is not much I like at AK except for this show and It's a Bugs Life.

I bought the show CD on my last trip and love listening to it. :sunny:

I LOVE Festival of the Lion King!!!! I would go to AK just for that! .... Saw it 3 times last trip. FOTLK and Wishes are my most favorite shows at Disney.

Funny story.......

One time I was sitting in the bleachers closest to where the Simba float enters at the far side of the theatre about 5th row up right on the aisle by the performers enterance. When the Princess was singing the Circle of Life song, I was so enthralled I didn't notice one of the African Warriors (I guess you would call him) came and sat next to me....after the song I turned and he was right there, a half inch from my nose staring at me and boy did I scream! I think everyone in the whole theatre looked over at us. He scared the life out of me! It was SO embarrassing! But he was laughing his head off. Once my heart started beating again, it was hilarious! :rotfl:

THe year AK opened we went. The night before our last day at the world, we all sat down and chose the things we really wanted to do again. Would you believe on that last day we visited all 4 parks!!! It was crazy and fun!

We ran into AK straight to The Lion King show and back to the parking lot!!

I would not recommend this strategy, but for our last day it was a riot! :rotfl2:

My whole fam has always loved that show. DD14 hasnt been since she was 8 or 9, but I bet she'll still love the shows that she can participate in when we do return. Probably not untill DD7 mo is about 2 :(

We went 3 yrs ago and it was amazing. I loved it. I have always wanted to see it on Broadway in NYC but thought this would be the closest I could ever get. Well, Dh suprised me for our 10th anniversary this past June with a trip to NYC. He got a sitter for the kids for the weekend, tickets to the show ($200 a ticket :earseek: ) and suprised me with it. I had no idea. That show is so magical - brought me to tears.

So this time in AK it will bring back some very special memories from June. :lovestruc

This is absolutely the best show at Disney. The costuming, the dancing, the talent of the singers--unmatched by any other show at WDW (in my not known to be humble opinion). We have seen the traveling broadway version and I would put the quality of the Festival of the Lion King right there with it (of course the broadway show is longer and follows the entire story). Strangely enough, I am not a particular fan of the movie!

I agree it's one of my favorites. :Pinkbounc

We loved it too. My mother uses a wheelchair when we do the parks, so we always get the front row of the "LION" section. The prince actually asked my DD3 to help him with the ROARING, but she got scared and ran away! :guilty:

I love this show too! We just did a WDW visit with my elderly parents and they agreed that this show is awesome. It looks like the performers enjoy what they are doing and the energy is contagious. It is definately a "do not miss" for any age!

Just a little boasting....My daughter-in-law is one of the dancers in the show. Her Mom and I once saw four shows in a row.....I never get tired of this show!

Patty, be sure and pass along to your daughter in law how wonderful we think the show is! You must be proud... I know I would be! :sunny:

I have to agree with you FOTLK is the best live show at WDW. We saw it twice on our just concluded trip. We would get to the park shortly after opening head to the safari for a fast pass and then go to the first show of FOTLK. The first show is never more than half full so you can pick where you want to sit.
