Lovebugs

Does anyone know what week in September that these lovely friends make their appearance in Disney? I remember going in September several years ago and we were covered in lovebugs. We will be in Fw 09/7 to 09/16. Someone just reminded me that September and May was lovebug season. Anyone from Florida know? Thanks!

I would like to know the answer to this as well. We will be at FW Sept 14-21.

There is no way to predict them. They can start as early as mid August and run as late as mid October. The spring ones lasted about six weeks from start to finish, with the third, fourth and fifth weeks being the worst. Some years they are very light and some years they are heavy. Last September was the worst I've ever seen them in over 25 years living in Florida. I checked in the 12th, but they didn't seem to get bad until around the middle of my trip, which would have been around the 18th. They were kind of late last year as well.

At least they don't bite like the mosquitos do.

We were there the last week in May and they were annoying..but not to the point of distraction. As mentioned they don't bite. I wasn't aware that they appear at different times of the year. Thought it was just the spring.

We were in WDW last year in late Sept into early Oct and the love bugs were every where!!
Freaked the kids out for sure!!
