Lovebugs are nasty. They're these flies that spend most of their adult life copulating with another, so they are attached at the butt and look like two headed mutants. I have never seen one in Disney.... ever. But they got so bad in Houston once they swarmed a beach we were on Galveston. They were EVERYWHERE and we had to run inside or been overrun.
We experienced an outbreak of them in Oct. 2007 at WDW. They showed up on bus windows, railings, benches pretty much any outdoor surface, I don't recall having a problem with them landing on us much and since they're usually occupied with reproductive activities, they're easy to just swat.
We have them in Louisiana and I HATE them! If I'm remembering correctly, we usually get them in late spring/early summer or the beginning of fall.... There's nothing you can do about them either...Good luck!
