Yesterday am called member services to make ressies for next memorial day weekend. My 7 year old heard me on the phone and was asking...can we please go to disney...today? So just for the heck of it, I asked if they had any studios at bw available for that day, and lo and behold they did, standard view, no less. So, 11 points and 20 minutes later, her and I were in the van on that long 1:15 minute drive to disney. We got there at noon, and our studio was ready! Our seasonal passes are blocked out,( except for AK) so here is what we did for fun...upon arrival, great lunch at beaches & cream, swimming & tubing at SAB. Back to our room, then to AK to ride Kali River Rapids.Took bus from there to Poly to try out the new volcano slide (DD loved it) From there monorail to mk, bus to swan for dinner at Palios 20% dvc discount it was awesome...definitely will go back there. Then swam at bw,( it is funny to hear DD asking people if they are DVC members and explaining the point system) There was another woman asking me about dvc she was interested, then an older man dvc member overheard our conversation and piped in, only he was very misinformed about many things. He was telling her things like...you can't use dvc points to stay at other disney resorts, and pop century is the next dvc property. Oh well! Before we called it a night we went to the bakery, and bellview lounge for some scrabble. This is a little ritual we have and we even always have to sit at the same table. After an awesome night sleep, we spent most of the am at bw pool and had lunch there before heading home(wanted to beat the rain ) All in all we had a blast, and let me sum it up by saying once again...I love my DVC!!!!

Sounds wonderful! I'd sure love to be able to do that....not an option from PA though.

Great post!! I love hearing these kind of stories. DVC really gives us the chance to be spontaneous!! ;) Glad your trip was so much fun.

Wow! what a great short trip to WDW! You certainly packed in a lot of fun things! Wish we lived closer..but our only option is to book air fare!!

I'm with you, Peggy Sue! I envy the DVCers who can just pick up on a whim and be there in a few hours by car. Sounds like it was a special day for your daughter, EZ!

EZ, you do realize you're killing me here!!! (At least it's not the middle of winter when you are telling this story.) :smooth:

What a wonderful story. Thanks for making so many wonderful memories with your daughter!! She's a lucky girl and you're a lucky mom!!

That sounds like so much fun. What a great thing to do and a great stress releaser............I really wished I lived closer to DW.
