Love my DVC

On Saturday we were getting ready to leave for my DH's conference in Vegas and our friends traveling with us text me asking if we want to go to Disneyland? Is the Pope Catholic? We called yesterday and two days out got two rooms at the Disneyland Hotel for tomorrow! Disneyland here we come. It cost only 29 points, cash would've been $315 per room! When I called on Saturday they still had a 2BR at the Grand Californian, but were all booked up when I called yesterday. (We had to wait to see when we could jet out of the conference, so couldn't make a reservation until yesterday! I LOVE my DVC!

the only way i got my DH to agree to visit to DL was throwing in Grand Canyon & Vegasshort hop on plane over

now he's asking when we can go backHaven't stayed @ DVC there, but DLH is really a nice property, enjoy!

We just returned home at appx 1:30 am this morning. When I get a chance, I will give a little better trip report!

So we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel after driving 4 hours from Vegas through the desert! Right now, there is a TON of construction. Now usually I plan and over plan for my Disneyworld trip, so imagine my surprise with no idea how much construction is everywhere! I would be super mad if our intent was to use the resort pool, as there are walls up everywhere! Personally, I would wait until the end of next summer to recommend going to Disneyland. With that said, here are a few pix from the resort and our room!

I would LOVE to stay here again, but not until construction is done. We had a great room, I would say it was the equivalent of a studio room. It had 2 queen beds, a sofa, chair, and desk with chair, closet with a pack n play, vanity outside bathroom, separate room for toilet and sink and tub/shower. It also had a mini coffee maker and a minifridge. Our friends had our adjoining room and their room was similar minus the sofa and extra vanity

So, thank you DVC, at two days out, I saved appx $700 on 2 deluxe rooms!

Thanks for the pics - would love to see more. We are throwing around the idea of going to California next summer but quite frankly the thought of researching this trip overwhelms me! I know so much about Disneyworld and Florida and so little about Disneyland and California.

Wow! I LOVE the decor! I had no idea that Disneyland was so gorgeous. I've never had a desire to visit the park (we are WDW people and have never been to the 'other' coast), but now I just might have to because of the hotel. Definitely have to show those pics to DH tonight! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting the pictures! The room looks really nice. I would LOVE to use our points to go to Disneyland, & I know we will someday we will. I love my DVC too

I would love staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

It reminds of everything that the Contemporary resort used to be before they did the redesign a few years ago. But BETTER!!

Funny, everybody loved the sleek new look...but I absolutely loved the tomorrowland feel of the Contemporary before they upgraded it. I think its because the purple decor reminded me of the purple pants of the monorail drivers. Don't know.

No problem! I love sharing with people who understand what the rest of us crazy DVC/Disney lovers get! Next time when we actually plan a trip to Disneyland, and don't just go on less than 5 days notice, I would love to stay at the Grand Californian. I would "settle" for the Disneyland Hotel as a second choice anytime. We LOVED it even though there was construction everywhere.

The construction on the DLH pool is almost complete. It's slate to open June 5th! They've been working on the rest of the hotel or a while, so I imagine it should be done soon! I am a local to DL, so I don't know specifics of the hotel, just what I read from Twitter feeds!

Tons of construction still going on at DCA, but that will be on-going until Carsland opens in the future (next year I think?).

I would definitely love to return there once construction is complete (well we all know it's never "complete"). It makes me a little mad that certain things reopened a couple days after being there. However, considering it was an impromptu trip, I can't complain too much! If it were the trip of a lifetime, I would want to wait. Good to hear they're finishing up some of the work there. I'm sure that was a good reason why we were able to get the DL hotel on two days notice. Good to hear that others will be able to enjoy it this summer!
