Hi all.....We're scheduled to fly out of PHL midday tomorrow (1/21) which is when the worst of the next East coast storm is to hit the I95 corridor! We always book a midday flight since we have a two hour drive to PHL and anything earlier means we either stay over in PHL or leave in the middle of the night! I booked this flight several months ago with Rapid Rewards points...checked earlier today when I printed our boarding passes and now the points are more than triple what I used to book for both the midday flight and two earlier flights! After checking the Weather Channel multiple times this afternoon we began to realize we may not get out of PHL later in the day tomorrow for our quick 4 day winter getaway to VGF and called SWA. Spoke to a wonderful rep who booked us for the same point value on the 6:30 a.m. flight. She offered to get us on the evening flight tonight..I think she said 6:30 p.m....but, it was 4:30 p.m. and we have a 2 hr drive! So.....we're getting ready to leave right now and staying over at a PHL airport hotel....Aloft...with a ParknFly rate. I just love Southwest!!

Just a reminder that many airlines will allow you to change tickets and waive fees if there is a major weather event coming up. They would rather get you out early and not have to deal with you on the back end. So it never hurts to call and ask even if they usually charge a fee.
