Just had to share that. dd had yet another feis (irish dance comp) yesterday and although I have yet to find the "perfect place" to stand and take pictures, I did get some great ones of her in the air. :) now I just have to run them through photoshop and lighten them up a bit... And at some point in all my spare time (lets laugh now) I will have to go through them all (193). (oh, the camera is a canon powershot s1 is with a 10x optical zoom). maggie

Thanks for sharing, I have never used that option on my camera, but maybe I will try it.

I just got that camera in December. And I love, love, love it too. Haven't done the continuous shooting mode yet, but I suspect I will when I go to the shows/fireworks at WDW next week.

my only issue with continous shooting... I filled my memory card up really fast! (and I have a 512mb one, so I can take like 500 pictures). It's not fun to go through 500 pictures. (thankfully yesterday was only 193) :) maggie

Love love love it too!!!!:) It can shoot like crazy with no lag time. I have taken 190 plus shots at one baseball game...my poor computer. Love catching the ball almost on top of the bat when the boys swing....awesome! Love the Canon color quality too!!!!

woo hoo....

Glad you having fun with yours!!

I use DMIL's sometimes, haven't looked at her book. How do you use this setting?

I have used it with the sports setting (the icon that looks like a running person kind of). all you do is push the buttonon the side of the camera that has the timer setting and the 3 boxes together (the button that is right next to the flash on/off button). maggie

I also like the exposure bracketing mode. It takes 3 pictures in succession, each with a different exposure setting (cause sometimes it's hard to tell on the screen if you've got the right one.

oooh, what's that? y'all are going to make me whip out the instructions aren't ya? maggie

Maggie, thanks for sharing! My 20th Wedding anniversary is Next Thursday, and I just showed my husband a "highlighted" this very camera.

It just looks so very neat! Cross your fingers for me, I think 20 years and 4 kids later, my chances should be good :teeth:

I have wanted this camera ever since it came out --- but, I had just purchased an Olympus 740 with the 10X opt. zoom. But the S1 has an image stabilizer to help me not get blurry pictures. WELL, now there is a S2 with 12X zoom..... I sure wish I had the extra money right now.

yeah, I'm a big fan of that image stabilizer. :) maggie

Awwwww, I wish I had that camera on my WDW trip! My Kodak Easyshare is incredibly slow, and that made things really difficult when I was trying to take pix with the Star Wars characters. How many folks want to wait in line behind someone with a slow camera? I think I was lucky to get the photos I did get, but it would have been soooo much better to have a quicker turnover like the Canon.

Hmmmm, I'm going to have to look for deals. Maybe I can put that on my Christmas or birthday wish list.

Maggie, you enabler you!

yup, that's me "the enabler". :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: maggie
