love bugs

how are the love bugs this year?

It has been reported on the boards that the love bugs have been spotted as of late but are not real bad right now. I would spose that would depend on where you are at in FL.

I thought I'd give you an honest reply to your question. I live 25 miles west of FtW & as of today (9/17), the dreaded love bugs are starting to swarm. UGH!!! I hate them!!

This is the time of year for them. Although they don't seem quite as bad as usual.

we were there a week ago and in the beginning we didn't really see any- by the end of the week started seeing them.
But we've been there before when they were everywhere- I guess the love bugs are picking up now.

I have a few questions please. do love bugs bite, or are they just annoying like flies. Well may flies bite so I hope they aren't like may flies. This next question is off the subject, but I was looking for someone that was a Dis vet. and online. We are calling to reserve our site for next Sept, oct and it seems that there are only a couple of loops that are preferred and not pet friendly. Do you have any loop suggestions? We don't mind dogs, but not if the loop is full of barkers all the time. That is the reason we were looking for non pet loops. Should we pay more to get a premium site? We have a 31ft. TT w/slide I know that is a lot of questions, but WDW does not do a real good job answering questions. Thanks so much

No,,, they don't bite. They are just annoying and if they land on you, you probably wouldn't know it. The biggest problems with lovebugs is that they "splat" all over your vehicle & windshield when you drive thru a swarm. You better rinse them off as soon as possible because their "guts" are very acidic & will eat the paint off your car.
