Love Bugs May 2016

Can anyone who is there now, or has been in the last 2 weeks report on the Love Bug situation. My daughter read somewhere that it's one of the worst seasons for the little critters. I'm trying to tell her they are not bad. We know they don't bite and are just a pain, but she hates things flying around her. We live in Maine. Other than mosquitos and black flies we don't really have any annoying flying bugs!! I'd appreciate it.

Only saw a few last week! They didn't bother us at all. None around the hotel in ASMo, and we only saw a few in Epcot.

I don't know if they migrate or anything weird like that, but South Texas was infested with the stupid things last week. Our white truck looked black from the front from the crazy amount of love bugs. They were everywhere!

I love in Orlando and saw one about 3 weeks ago but haven't seen any more since

Had some earlier here on the space coast but have not seen them lately...thank heavens. They will be back in the fall.

I've been starting to see them here in not-so-South Texas - seen a lot more already than I saw all of last year, though not as bad as they were a few years back. I don't know if they tend to follow similar patterns in different areas of the country, but if so, this could end up being a bad year for them in FL...

Agreed... this is the worst I have seen them in many many years. They just swarm everything... pretty gross even if they're harmless lol.

Lots on our airboat tour yesterday but only when we stopped. We were about an hour east of Orlando. Can't remember seeing any at all in or around the parks the last two weeks.

Perhaps, but I seem to remember two seasons. One in May and one in September. Perhaps I'm mistaken on that...??

Yes, they come back in September as well. Last year the September love bug invasion never really happened, so I can always hope

I will be traveling though Texas and south arriving in DW on June 10. Should I expect any problems?
