I am at BWV and can tell you there are very few here, at Epcot and at the MK. I haven't been to OKW so I don't know what it's like there. After the reports we had a week or so ago, it was a relief to find there are very few of them flying around here this week!
They were awful from September 29th to October 4th. They seemed to be letting up a bit the day before we left on October 5th. They were so bad that we would brush off benches before sitting and still got back to the room with bug guts all over our shorts. Yuck! This was the first time we had gone in early fall. I think we might pass on late September / early October from now on. It was the only major complaint of the entire trip.
We ate at Boma last night. There are more love bugs at AKL/V than at BWV but it wasn't bad. The temperatures are going to be cooler starting on Friday (high of 83 instead of 90) and that is supposed to help.
I took a trip in early may 2006 and they where pretty plentiful. Does anyone know if these things are seasonal or is it the temp that brings them out, i have been before but in mid july and don't remember seeing them.

They are seasonal. Bad news for us is that they are out in May & September, usually the times we travel to WDW
Talked extensively to a CM about them. They only come out in May & September, and there is absolutely NO repellent for them. After hearing this, DS and I are DETERMINED to find a repellent and become millionaires. Wish us luck!
Well, we normally go down every May and have seen them during that time, but they were nothing like they were this past trip in Sept./Oct. We talked to a number of CM's about it and they all said that they are the worst in the fall. So I think we will stick with the first and second weeks of May or early December from now on.
