Love Actually

Have you seen the movie Love Acutally? Was it any good? It is playing at our post theater next week and the girls were thinking about having a girls night out to see it, but none of us knows anything about it. Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

I haven't seen it yet but would love to since I saw the cast and it said Rowan Atkinson is in it.
Anything with Rowan Atkinson in it I have to see it.

The perfect girls night out movie.

Its funny, heartwarming, and has a wonderful ensemble cast. I saw the movie twice - went with my sister the first time, and drug my husband to it the second time. The title turned him off, but he ended up loving it.

Its about 8 different storylines going on at the same time, and all of them are regarding some type of love - either the love between a husband and a wife, or a father and child, or brother and sister; or people who have just met and are falling in love. Its not at all corny, just very realistic, but upbeat and light at the same time.

I highly recommend it!

It was really a great movie, I would like to have seen it again, but it came and went quickly, so I am waiting for it to come out on DVD!!! If you liked Notting Hill and Bidget Jones, this comedy runs in the same vein.

....ditto....and some of my favorite boys are in it....Alan Rickman and Colin Firth (sigh), as well as Hugh Grant and Gabe Byrn. I also saw it with 'the girls' and we had a great time.

My girl friends and I went to see it. Most of us liked it. It's got a couple of nude scenes in which 2 movie stand-ins (male/female) are simulating sex - graphic in an unsexy sort of way. If that had been left out I would have recommended the movie for most people because the story is really good. Instead I have to say don't take your kids, and maybe don't take your husbands.

This just strikes me as funny. Why not take your husbands? Because of the nude scenes?

Some people may not understand this, but there are men (and women) who find it in their best interest to stay away from graphic nudity and sex scenes (simulated or not). Of course I realize that many more men love to see scenes like that. That's why I said "maybe" - it all depends on the person.
