The administration working on the extension of OKW is not doing a very good job!

I paid for the extension of a 50 pt contract back in November and was just sent a quit claim deed to sign to give up the years for that conract! I called to see what was up and the person I talked to looked up my contract and said, Yes, we got your money in November and it is extended to 2057, I have no idea why they sent that to you."

Another contact, one that I did not extend, Jim McCoy, my CM, had to request the quit claim papers repeatedly before I recently got them.

None of the gifts promised for extending, or for that matter for not extending has been sent to me.

I have never gotten any kind of deed or acknowledgement of extension except for the charge card reciept.

I think they can do better!

I'm sure you'll forget about all of this when you start using those extended points in another 34 years! :)

You reminded me exactly how much I wish I could have my $750 back!

If you're serious, call them and tell them to send it back to you. I'm sure they would.

FWIW, we had a very similar experience declining. It took a tremendously long time for them to send the paperwork to us. We did receive the $30 credit on our dues, but the rest of it was incredibly slow.

I think they were sort of making it up as they went.

We signed the papers declining the extension last February while at WDW. In April we received the same paperwork in the mail asking for our signature. I called Member Accounting and asked about the need for the additional paperwork and they said to shred it - that it should never have been sent out since they already had everything needed from us.

It seems that sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I have misplaced or just plain old lost the papers and the deadline is fast approaching. I would like to know who I should contact to get another set or arrange to sign them while we are at WDW next month. Does anyone know if it is member accounting or my guide who would take care of this?

Call you guide to set up an appointment to sign the papers.

We simply took our papers with us to the sales center and told them we wanted to sign our OKW quit claim paperwork. We were in and out in 15 minutes, not counting the free ice cream before we departed :)

We were told the lithographs were to be mailed end of August.

Thanks - will keep looking for the papers for another week and if don't find them will call my guide and set something up for when we are down there.

Yep, that is exactly what happened to us as well.

Thanks for posting this. I had completely forgotten about the quit claim deed!

We never received it.

I just got off the phone with Member Services. I chose the second option (forgot what it is called but it wasn't "using your points" or member accounting).

That option has another one for OKW extensions-- think you press 4 there.

The gentlemen I spoke to said that there was no notation on my account that anything was ever sent out to us. He is sending out the paperwork today.

One point he made was that in addition to the notary, you have to have another witness to sign who has no interest in the contract.

That's true, but most common notary places in the US (banks, etc.) just grab somone from another department to witness the signing, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Our little bank doesn't have a big staff. So we will just have to make sure that we visit at a non peak time! :goodvibes

We declined the extension and even that has cost us so far.

We live in another country where notaries don't really exist - we don't use that system for witnessing documents - the few people with the qualification seem to use their status to overcharge people with foreign documents which insist on a notary...

Hmm. We got our papers to extend notarized and sent in months ago but there was nothing about a separate witness signature.

Haven't heard a word from Disney on this since and did not expect to. Should we?

Where the signature was notarised, there was room for two witnesses - it said on the paperwork that one of the witnesses could be the notary - our notary got two other people in addition to themselves to be thorough...

Interesting,

I declined the offer by completing the original form, I then recieved something advising me I needed to get a notary to sign to confirm I was declineing the offer.

Here in the UK this would cost so I ignored the mail, if Disney wants me to sign and get someone to witness then they can arrange when I am in Disney.

I originally signed up for an agreed period therefore I feel have no obligation to sign anything further.

Yes, and you agreed to comply with the governing provisions, so DVC is well within their rights on this one.
