Just for kicks, does anyone know how much the Louis XIII Rare Cask Cognac is? It is listed on the menu but there is no price. The video from when it was delivered to the Dream says that you get a necklace with it. I'm so interested! :goodvibes

If it is the same stuff that Buddy from Cake Boss was drinking when he and his family were onboard it is something like $1500 a shot!! IIRC

I think it is $150 for a shot and $200 for 2 oz.

The bottles 2 years ago were cheap(lol) around $1300, went up to $1800(Hawaii cruise) and I think the necklace one was now $2200?

Don't hold me to those prices. Someone had posted a price list for drinks and full bottles but I can't find it.

That sounds more like it what it should be...I remember a thread where people were amazed at how much the shots of cognac in Palo were.

Attended the cognac tasting on the Dream in October. A shot of the Rare bottle (Black Pearl) was over $1,000. Sounds like they have a celebration with ships officers when anyone orders it.

The typical Louis XIII was about $113/shot on the Magic in June.

There's an old saying with bartenders, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." JK

That being said, we got the scoop on the Louis XIII Rare Cask which is different and more expensive than the traditional Louis XIII.

The bottles of Rare Cask (RC) cost in upwards of $30,000 each. DCL is the only cruise line in the world with them. They have 2 bottles, one on Dream and one on Fantasy. They were delivered to the ship with armed guards.

When we were on dream, a glass/shot cost $1300. The portion is served in a Baccarat crystal glass, which you keep, and if you are a lady, you get a diamond fleur-de-lis pendant, if you are a gentleman, you receive diamond fleur-de-lis cufflinks.

The taste is so smooth and velvety that it lingers on your palate for hours, if not days.

There was also an option to purchase a taste for $200, which amounts to a few drops.

Ok...so I was not crazy....a shot of the special stuff was VERY expensive!!!

I don't know about the "Rare Cask" Louis XIII, but the regular Louis XIII was $2400 a bottle on the Dream last week. We always check that one since my Wife's boss frequently asks us to get him a bottle if we can find a good price. Best price we ever found was $700 a bottle at a store in the mall by the docks in St. Thomas. We should have bought a case at that price. BTW $2400.00 was NOT a good price.

Oh yes! This is the one I was thinking of, I knew a bottle was $30,000 so I had a feeling it wasn't the $150 shot. Way too rich for my blood :) I think I have had the "cheaper one" before but I don't know for sure...
