loud group

While this might work it is not suggested by the police. We were taught this when I work in the police dept, never confront them leave to the people that can put them custody if called for. Yes they can see you but you are putting yourself at risk. This is my view only. I just saying with the way people act these days you never know if they are just drunk or high on something.

I think you may have misunderstood. I don't "confront" the group and I don't go out of the safety zone of my doorway. And I don't yell or holler at them. I just get their attention with an "excuse me?" and then tell them the time and that there are people who are trying to sleep. In every instance, I have been answered with an apology and things have quieted down. I have never asked someone to stop what they are doing, just to keep it quieter. They are on vacation too.

The best part was when we complained last night and "security" came and spoke to them. A couple minutes later the same lady comes and knocks on our door right in front of them. I would have no problem confronting them but when I have my family there's no way I would get them involve. I work law enforcement and I would never put a complainant in a citation like that
I've been at Pop since last Thursday. I know the group you're talking about.
Was your room in the 80's or 90's section? I think that's where they are staying right now.
I'm in the 60's and it has been nice and peaceful. :goodvibes

Yikes, I'm going to Pop in 3 days. I've had to call security for the room (connecting) next to me last trip at the BWI - twice - for being so loud though.
.
Avoid the 80's/90's section when you check in. The group's tournament runs until Aug. 31st. The group has been quiet and pleasant in the food court area and during the day around Pop. I can see how they might get loud at night though.

Incidentally, similar to one of the reasons we hated our stay at POP. Loud loud clusters of people, socializing late hours outside of the room doors, and way more unsupervised preteens+. And this was on a very low crowd January weekend. I've stayed at WDW hotels 6 times and DCL 3 times, and this is the only resort I've experienced this level of this behavior at.[/QUOTE]

We have stayed at POP many times and have never had this happen. Also it could happen at any of the resorts

My last stay at all star movies the group of Brazilian noise machines wouldn't be quite for nothing called the front desk once and security came they where quite for maybe 15 mins.

At that point it was about 230am so I marched up to the front desk and they sent the manager to wake up the adults in another room.

Even after all of that they never stayed quite unless they where sleeping.

80's and 90's is where they put all the groups. I will never let them put me in that area again.

I was in blg 9 on the fourth floor in the 80s/90s section. When they closed the pool for the night it looked like a night club out there, packed and people playing musical instruments. But Why would they put families in that side if the know they have these large groups there.

I know what you mean. We went for a walk by the computer pool a couple of nights ago at about 10pm. It was definitely a different vibe around that area. You're right......kind of like a nightclub.

Glad you got moved.

EXACTLY!!!!

If anyone think calling the police is wrong for anything is wrong. They respond to any given cause. I made my statement about my experience. The first time I let the resort handle it and they did a very poor job. I happen to be at the AK and there was an Orange County Deputy. I was talking to him and he told me never call Disney security but the police or the sheriff dept. as that what they are there for. He gave me a card and said to call no matter how small the problem was.

Disney doesn't handle disputes very well. They think the people causing the problems has more rights than those who are the victims so to speak. If they can't control the noisy guests they should be moved or told if it happens again they are out period.

I also experienced an incident at the WL where I thought the man with his two children in the room next to mine was throwing his child across the room hitting the wall. I walked down and inform the front desk. Yes they did call Disney Security nothing. An hour later I heard the noise again. This time I called the police. They came and went into the room to find the little boy beaten black and blue. The older sister said the Dad did it before Disney Security came up ( Disney Security didn't not ask to see the boy in question ). But the police did. Needless to say the father was a beater. I had to tesitfiy for the police what I heard etc. the Mom was at the court house and thanked me for doing what I did. She lived in Florida and was divorced and the father had the kids that week. He took them to Disney. This gave her fuel to get full custody of her son and daughter. I still get Christmas cards from her.

I agree with this completely. Never think calling the police is wrong. And holy cow, what a story about WL.

Ok from this thread I have learned a few things but heres what I would of done. First went to the front desk and told them about it and qould like something done. If nothing happen call the Orange County Sheriff as that what they are paid to do. And with us coming down here we are keeping them busy. Then once the Sheriff office clams down the group in question go to bed and go to the front desk in the morning wanting to talk to a manager to A be refunded that night or to be upgraded to a different room as not to be bothered.

Sounds fair to me considering we pay $300 a night to sleep here I except results for that kind of money. Not to let some group be loud 3 am when I am trying to sleep and enjoy the one part of my vacation which is sleeping in and relaxing.

Robin B is correct, the phone connects to someone far far away.

I would recommend just politely asking them to quiet down, If they don't , head to the front desk
