loud group

...

I also experienced an incident at the WL where I thought the man with his two children in the room next to mine was throwing his child across the room hitting the wall. I walked down and inform the front desk. Yes they did call Disney Security nothing. An hour later I heard the noise again. This time I called the police. They came and went into the room to find the little boy beaten black and blue. The older sister said the Dad did it before Disney Security came up ( Disney Security didn't not ask to see the boy in question ). But the police did. Needless to say the father was a beater. I had to tesitfiy for the police what I heard etc. the Mom was at the court house and thanked me for doing what I did. She lived in Florida and was divorced and the father had the kids that week. He took them to Disney. This gave her fuel to get full custody of her son and daughter. I still get Christmas cards from her.

Wow. Thank goodness for you being in the right place at the right time.

When you stay at a resort with hundreds of other people, we all have to make some considerations to each other while we are on the planet together. If people are being loud and obnoxious, continually, then yes, you have every right to demand they stop. If Disney won't do it, then maybe the police will.

You are welcome. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happen to that young boy. My husband always tells me to shut my mouth when I see someone doing something wrong but if I think it warrant getting abuse back I will speak up. I work with the police dept for 13 yrs not as a officer but heard all these stories and saw the pictures they took. The incident happen when I was still working with them. They heard about it and I got a nice letter from my chief of police along with one from Florida. So it was worth it to me.

Too many people think they can do anything they want and get away with it. I think that what wrong with the world at times. Yes you have to take in consideration of other people's customs but hitting and abusing is not acceptable.

I am all for calling police if Disney security does nothing. I would think its more likely security asked the people to tone it down but a lot of people probably don't worry about being in trouble with a security guard.

What makes people think that them being loud or disruptive is ok? They can do what they want as long as it doesn't impact the people around them in a negative way.

You might have misunderstood me. I meant that all of us on this planet have to consider each other when we are at a resort with so many others, meaning, we can't hoot and holler at any time of the night as we please.

I think sometimes that calling the police is warranted regardless of the reason. Security, while given rights under most state laws, are often times handcuffed by corporate polices.
Also the security guards are working for Disney, and as such Disney doesn't want to offend anyone, regardless of the situation.
So yes, there are times cops will be the best solution based solely on the fact they will respond in a manner that doesn't take a potential loss of money into consideration

The best part was when we complained last night and "security" came and spoke to them. A couple minutes later the same lady comes and knocks on our door right in front of them. I would have no problem confronting them but when I have my family there's no way I would get them involve. I work law enforcement and I would never put a complainant in a citation like that

This happened to me at home. Some young couple moved in a little down the street. I happened to be home mid-week (dont remember why), and heard some loud arguing outside, mid morning. Very unusual for my neighborhood. I looked out the window and the couple were verbally fighting in their driveway. A couple of minutes later, she got into her car and he jumped on top of her (I think to grab the keys). I went for my phone and called the police. While I was talking to them, she started backing up and he jumped on the trunk of her sedan. She slammed on the brakes and he fell off behind the tires and wouldnt move..but was still screaming at her. Next thing I know, she was taking an infant out of the backseat and the fighting continued in the driveway. I didnt even know the child was there until then.

Anyway...police came out. Talked to him and her. Cuffed him.......then......walked over to my house! What! Thanks for telling (showing) this psycho it was me who called. I too did not open the door, but called the police department (non emergency) and told them I would only speak to someone privately.

I am sorry I did misunderstood you. Agree :)

My vote call the Police, Calling the police , you did the right thing, if something happened the next day could you live with your self? Loud noise to the point of loosing sleep or wondering if it is aggressive, or a drunken stupor or an arrogant blankety blank, that needs to be addressed by the proper authorities. Calling the police , that's their job they are happy to help because it can avoid a bigger problem. The calling of the police was using your head

I'm female, 5 foot nothing and weight maybe 105 pounds on a good day. So, not exactly a threat to anyone. However, if there was a loud party outside laughing and joking and drinking and it was after 11:00 PM, I would go out there and ask them to tone it down or move inside. And yes, I have done this on several occasions at several hotels around the country. What I've found is that seeing another guest asking the party to calm down is more intimidating than having security show up because security then leaves and you don't see them again. With another guest, you'll see them again.

While this might work it is not suggested by the police. We were taught this when I work in the police dept, never confront them leave to the people that can put them custody if called for. Yes they can see you but you are putting yourself at risk. This is my view only. I just saying with the way people act these days you never know if they are just drunk or high on something.

It shouldn't make any difference whether the person answering the phone is on resort property or not. Whoever answers the call should be able to facilitate a request.
Should be able to- yes. But in actuality, the person at the off site call center just doesn't get it done at times.

We're talking about a group of middle aged men at a Disney resort not a bunch of thugs on a street corner. I would hate to live my life in fear and feel I needed to hide in my room and call the police over a group of guys who are a little too loud at a Disney resort pool. I would have had no problem getting up and asking them to quiet down if they were bothering me.

I agree. Call the police next time. That will definitely get Disney's attention.

Incidentally, similar to one of the reasons we hated our stay at POP. Loud loud clusters of people, socializing late hours outside of the room doors, and way more unsupervised preteens+. And this was on a very low crowd January weekend. I've stayed at WDW hotels 6 times and DCL 3 times, and this is the only resort I've experienced this level of this behavior at.
Yes, thats why we never stayed there again.

If anyone think calling the police is wrong for anything is wrong. They respond to any given cause. I made my statement about my experience. The first time I let the resort handle it and they did a very poor job. I happen to be at the AK and there was an Orange County Deputy. I was talking to him and he told me never call Disney security but the police or the sheriff dept. as that what they are there for. He gave me a card and said to call no matter how small the problem was.

Disney doesn't handle disputes very well. They think the people causing the problems has more rights than those who are the victims so to speak. If they can't control the noisy guests they should be moved or told if it happens again they are out period.

That was so kind of you. It made me cry.

I don't live in fear of anything other than terrorists trying to kill us which is a fact. I am just saying doesn't matter how old or rather they are thugs at Disney. They are a bother and I a m not going to be threaten by them. That what the police is for. Besides the pool is closed at a certain time. So why doesn't Disnry enforce this ? I don't live in fear or stay in my room but to confront the idiots no way. If you ever work with the police and I work for the police as 911 operator and what I was taught. Send the police to the business or hotel or a person's home and stay inside and let the pros do what they are suppose to do. And please the police are there to protect and serve and should be respected not trying to put them in a bad light.

I am out of this discussion is getting out of control. If anyone want to confront them be my guest but don't come back on the boards to complain.Disney doesn't really care nor do they do anything about rude guest. My view which I am entitle to unless something has changed in the laws.

This sort of thing can happen at any resort. I've stayed at POP a couple of times, and it was peaceful and quiet, at least in the section where my room was located.

But I am sorry, op, that you had to deal with this. Very frustrating to say the least.

My last trip I stayed at SSR in a one bedroom and the people next to me had a child about 1-2yo that would scream at the top of his lungs around 630-7am every morning. My bedroom was as far away from their room as you could get, my living room/kitchen were next to their room and even with my bedroom door closed it woke me up every morning. The kid screaming wasn't the problem it was that he would be screaming for over a half hour and they wouldn't be trying to calm him down, he would keep screaming mommy and then be screaming/screeching at the top of his lungs. After the second morning of this I left a note on their door saying I would like to be able to sleep and would they please try to calm their child and not just let him scream and wake everyone up. It worked I didn't hear him on the last 3 mornings at the SSR. I understand kids cry but they weren't even trying to get their child to stop and it was rude to let them disturb other guests like that. I signed it, "your sleepy neighbor(not one of the 7 dwarfs)"

Yikes, I'm going to Pop in 3 days. I've had to call security for the room (connecting) next to me last trip at the BWI - twice - for being so loud though.

I would definitely have called security again - we turn in fairly early. Being loud that late is not acceptable, but it happens sometimes at any resort unfortunately. And that is disturbing the peace, so each individual needs to make that decision on whether or not to do anything else if the resort doesn't do something.
