lotsa questions about the discounts

that sucks i hate when places automatically add the tip like that, but i guess at disney the service will be amazing for an automatic 18% tip

hey so my family has alot of questions about my discounts that i just dont know the answer to! if anyone could help me out that would be great

1. so i know we only get 3 extra passes 6 times total, is that like once a month? because im only there from august 5th til january 3rd and thats not even a full 5 months

2. how do they get the discount at the hotels? do i have to book it myself? and can i book it as soon as i get there or do i have to wait two weeks just like with the tickets (and my aunts specific question, is there a code or something that they can use to book it?)

3. im not 100% clear on the free pass things. do i have to walk them to the gates or can i just give them the tickets and let them run around by themselves?

4. and i know i get discounts on food in different places, can i use it for my family too? do i have to be eating it with them? im assuming i have to be there myself to buy the food, but can i just buy it on my break for them?

thanks for your patience guys!

For Disneyland people: most of the other answers are the same, so I'm just going to include the differences (and how they effect each other in crossplay) - note I gleaned most of this from the internet and talking to current CMs so this is not first-hand experience but this is what I believe represents the current state of benefits.

1. Disneyland CPs get 16 entrances like a WDW Full-Time CM would. I'm not sure of the reason, but I think its because WDW counts their CPs as seasonal whereas Disneyland counts them as... something else.

2. As a CM you can book any of the resorts at either WDW or Disneyland. If you're not on-site (say, you work at WDW and your friends are going to the Disneyland Hotel) you can fax it in (unless that policy changed - I know at one point one of them required you in-person but then relaxed that restriction)

3. Blue pass works the same way. As far as I know, admissions are *not* counted if you use them anywhere other than your home Resort. So a WDW CM can go to Disneyland for a week with people using their blue pass and still have 6 entrances remaining for WDW (if this is no longer the case please tell me)

4. Food is 20% at all credit card accepting locations, so there will usually be no discount at the infamous churro carts. WDW IDs will work at Disneyland locations, however Disneyland IDs may not work at WDW due to the weird "Florida Site" rule :/

This is also true of Quick Service locations; just show the ID and someone else can pay. However, the only QS locations that have CM discounts are at DAK and the resorts.

I think DTD does too, doesn't it?

It makes sense, given the high number of international tourists who come from different tipping cultures. It ensures that servers are paid fairly.

The QS/TS restaurants in DTD aren't owned or operated by Disney so it's up to each individual place to give a cast discount or not. I know wolfgang puck express gives a discount and they have the BEST mac and cheese ever O_O

Technically some of the restaurants in Epcot are the same way, because they aren't owned by Disney (which is why they sometimes opt out of participating in the Dining Plan)
