As I'm resarching the Vistana Resort, I'm thinking we'd be happier in the Spas section as opposed to Cascades....mostly because of size. It will be 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 preteens, and two toddlers.

I also understand the Spas are close to the awesome Cascade pool and the other activities?

What about the Springs section? About the same as Spas?

Lastly, how far is this resort from the Swan/Dolphin as I will probably be driving dh to his conference everyday while we're there?

And also, is there a place to see an aerial photo or drawing of the layout of this massive resort?

Thanks!

Does anybody out there have any information on setting up a timeshare presentation deal with Vistana? In other words, greatly discounted room rate in exchange for attending a presentation.

Thanks!!!!!!!

I forgot to add, are there any Vistana owners out there who would like to "refer" me for the timeshare thingy through the owner referral program?

Hi Cindy. I can't answer your questions yet, but I'm off to Vistana Resort in a couple of weeks! I have managed to find a drawing of the layout though and the link is below, just click on the map button at the bottom of the page. I found quite a few pictures, not only on their website but also on Travelocity.com and Expedia.com, just search for the accomodation and you will find them!!!! Hope this helps.

Hi! I just got back from Vistana 4 hours ago. We had a marvelous week there. I can't give you any specifics about Spas, etc, as we stayed in Lakes, but would be glad to answer any questions you have about the resort in general. If you call the resort, they will send you a map of the entire prop., which is very useful in getting info on what part of the resort you would like. Iw ol dbe glad to anser any questions you have.

We passed the S & D every day on our way to the park...you are looking at about a 10-15 minute drive at most.

Good luck with your planning!:D

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking the Lakes are a bit smaller ('cause they're newer?) and have pretty long walk to the eats and stuff?

I printed off the map and it does help quite a bit to "picture" the layout. The details are so tiny that I can't tell what's what except for the pools and buildings. My biggest fear is actually walking long distances as this past January we stayed at the CBR on property and the hike to the food was ridiculous. And with the babies along this time, I want convenience and SPACE.
:)

thanks!

Hi we own in Spas, we love it. We face the Super Pool and are only a few minutes walk from the cascades pool and general store, our veranda faces onto a pond with ducks and fish for the boys to feed. There is loads of space in the apartment, DM +DD went to look at a new one and said it was smaller, also we like the landscaping and the blocks are only 2 storey. The place had been redecorated pre-Feb and has since had a new carpet.
Cant wait to be back on Valentines Day.

Thanks Scotfan! So if I request the Spa, what are the chances of us getting one? Do they also have the hottub thingy in the master bdrm?

Is is an easy walk from anyplace in the Spas area to the activities/food? I can't tell from my itty-bitty map what the pools are and what the ponds are, lol. Is the Super Pool in the middle of the Spas area?

DH is calling the resort today for info.

Thanks for replying!

Our unit in Lakes was very spacious. Be careful because some 2 BR only have twins in the second BR, while some have 2 queens. With a big group, you will need those two queens. We were situated right in between Fountains and Lakes, so we had EASY acces to both pools, as well as Flamingo Cafe, which had pretty decent food and a full service bar. The Fountains pool is gorgeous, with a good kiddie pool, waterfall and lots of palms, etc.. you really felt as though you were in the Caribbean. There were 2 playgrounds, 2 hot tubs, and lotsof pool chairs. This is the pool area fetured on the brochures. Lakes pool is almost adjacent, which has zero depth aceess and is a little quieter. I was very ahppy with where we stayed inthe resort, it was very lush and tropical feeling, more so than the newer Cascades sections, which look lovely, but are very built up and could almost be a suburban condo complex.

Feel free to post any questions. I will do my best to answer!

Hi again, I think if you request Spas if you do the Diamond lane check in, on their website, you should be OK Most people seem to want Cascades because it is newer.
It does have a bubbly bath in the Master en suite, my 2 boys (5 & 7) loved it, it takes a lot of water to fill though!
It is an easy walk to the spas, cascades and falls(I think) pools The spas is closest, next to Zimmies bar. The area in the middle of spas is a pond lol.
Cascades is about a 3 - 4 min walk, past the general store.
The tennis and activity centre is just beyond the spas pool, its all really close.
Hope this helps.

Very cool. So can dh request the diamond lane check-in via hotelkingdome.com?

He spoke with them today, and they offered no guarantees. That scares me a bit. I just read the most horrid review from someone who stayed at the VR in July (they stayed in the Springs). Really gave me second thoughts....which is stupid because everywhere else I read there are only rave reviews.

I have wondered why there is no info at mousesavers though. She doesn't mention it at all....is it because it's a timeshare property?

*shrug*

Go to starwood.com, select Vistana Resort and then choose Diamond Lane. We reserved through HK for early December and even though the reservation shows what we requested....we still did the DL thing in order to save time at check-in. You will receive and email confirmation from VR when you do the DL request.
