Lots of trouble making decision about F&W...

Okay...so first trip away without the kids. We are totally wanting to do F&W Festival and really enjoy what it has to offer. But, of course, I made a couple of ADRs right away thinking we would want to do sit down meals. Now, as I look at what the menus were like at the festival last year, I am thinking that we may be happier sampling throughout the day, and forgetting about TS meals. So...I was going to add the dining plan, but I'm wondering if I will regret that because we won't be making the most of it...that maybe it will hinder our vacation in this case.

What do you all think? I think my brain is spinning at this point.

And would the QSDP be a better deal? Can we use CS credits and snack credits at the booths?

Should we just go OOP all the way? We will definitely do Boma on the first night before MNSSHP (crossing my fingers on getting an ADR), but everythinhg else is take it or leave it. In fact, I think we are having trouble trying to find a place to squeeze in the third TS reservation. It is kind of stressing me out.

Can we use CS credits and snack credits at the booths?

It's been snack credits only. They don't take CS credits.

And we don't know about it for sure this year yet, but it's anticipated they'll take snack credits again for all non-alcoholic items.

Remember if you get the quick service dining plan, it's 2 snack credits per night...for this year only. Next year they move to 1 snack credit per night.

That is a total bummer. That's one of the best perks!

So, we are heading down on 9/30, which is the beginning of the F&W, so we probably won't know what they are taking before that point, will we? They don't release those things ahead of time, right?

They don't release them. But for the past three years it has been snack credits for every food and non-alcoholic beverage item. We will know for sure when they start putting up photos of the menu boards with DDP logos on them. Someone always puts up pictures.

We have been at the food and wine festival the last few years we never get the dining plan ans pay oop....our first year we did make dining reservations but wound up canceling them since we wound up making a meal out of eating around the world

We have been once to F&W without the kids - and we had 1 TS reservation and although we went, we would have rather just grazed our way through the booths.

This year, we only made a reservation for breakfast on our departure day (we're only going for 3 days) and will eat at the booths the rest of the time.

We just load up (and sometimes reload up) a Food & Wine gift card and eat at will!
