1. What is the difference between a Boardwalk view and a Preferred view? I mean I know generally what the difference is (one you get a boardwalk the other a more interior courtyard type view). Being that I have never been to the resort I was hoping someone could elaborate a little bit more on the difference.

2. What are the chances of snagging a 1bdrm BW view at the end of January? Realisticly?

3. Would I be better off to waitlist for day by day or the entire trip?
I am a little nervous of waitlisting day by day because this would only be a 4 night trip and would hate to think I might spend every other night back and forth. Which then asks. . .

4. If I waitlist day by day and BW doesn't come through totally about a month before can I switch the entire reservation back to SSR? Of course this assumes availibility but I honestly don't see that being a problem?

5. Lets say I want to waitlist for the entire trip, can I put down an alternate resort choice? IE- BW view and also VWL and tell MS whatever one comes through in it's entirety that is the one I will take?

I want to try out the different resorts at least once and am trying to fit them in during off kilter times.

PV - Pool/Garden rooms generally overlook one of the pools or the new croquet lawn. Most of those rooms also see the canal leading to MGM and the Swan/Dolphin resorts. PV-Boardwalk rooms overlook Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. They have a view of the upper level fireworks from IllumiNations. None of the PV -Pool/Garden rooms have a view of IllumiNations, although it has been reported that some can see the fireworks from Fantasmic.

Assume you mean at the 7 month window. Not great. Possible, but not probable.

Yes, the best chance is to waitlist on an individual basis for each day you cannot get when you first call. Assume you plan to call day by day for the reservation to begin with.

Certainly - and I agree availability isn't likely to be a problem at SSR at the end of January.

You can waitlist for as many resorts and dates as you like, but MS won't make decisions for you in the manner you describe

My advice is to waitlist for any resort you can't get at 7 months (and want to try). Tell MS you want a call if something comes through on any waitlist. (Do not let MS set up the auto waitlist process for you - that's where they book it automatically when it comes through and just send you a letter). When you get the call, you decide yes or no at that time.

Best wishes -
