I just read the unofficially guide to disney and picked up these rumors: MK the swiss family tree house will be remodeled to be tarzans house just like at disney land, the area by ariels grotto will be expanded into a ride and they might take out the pooh ride for the space,

Epcot: The pavillion with body wars is looking for a sponsor and if disney cant find one it will be tore down

MGM disney will remodle the Great Movie ride or will take it out for a new ride, the indian jones stunt show will either be changed to add in features from the new movie or will be changed to the indians jones ride just like at disney land, this is because of the new lights, motor action stunt show, lastly disney just bought the rights to the muppets and a full scale muppets atraction is slated for 2007,

Animal kingdom: disney wants to balance out the park, since everest is on the right they want a large scale attraction on the left, diseny has been looking at camp minnie mickey and would like to put a ride there, they were thinking about putting the raft ride from california adventure, but there is already a raft ride, disney still may put it in for 2 reason: the giant bear makes for a good landmark and disney want to put in a land with bears, camp minnie mickey could be changed to a north american outdoors land

I agree with Peter...sounds like a lot of falsities. The Winnie the Pooh ride is very popular, as is The Great Movie Ride. I can see them adding attractions, but taking out the ones you mentioned....I don't think so. Unofficial is the key word there.

The only one that has any possiblity of truth to it is the Indy ride. We've talked to many CM's in the past 4 years who have said that they are looking into the costs of adding the ride to the World. These CM's were from both DL and DW. The ride is a lot of fun and would probably generate good numbers for MGM.
The Great Movie Ride could use some physical updating, but don't change any of the movies. They are all classics that most kids know nothing about (except Wizard of Oz). I worked in a class room a few months ago where the kids didn't even know Fantasia and the only Tarzan they know is the cartoon. Having a ride that reflects the better days of Hollywood is something MGM needs. It used to be the focus point of MGM-look down the road as you enter and there is this beautiful replica of the a historic building. Then they added the hat.... :crazy2: They would lose A LOT of park-goers if they ever changed or got rid of GMR.

Taking out the Pooh ride doesn't make sense, that is across the walkway from Ariels Grotto. Taking out the new Pooh playground would make sense as that is right next to the Grotto. The playground looks like it was intended to be temporary filler until something could be done with that area.

I think they want to enlarge the hat.

The only part of the OP that is for sure true is the purchase of the Muppets, which actually was (finally!) completed last year. As for 'a full scale Muppets attraction', that's been there for a LONG time; MuppetVision 3D.
And I agree, it is Ariel's Grotto and the new Pooh playground area that has always been designated as 'future expansion', ever since 20,000 Leagues closed. Pooh's ride isn't going anywhere for a good long while....

Well, if any of these rumors are true, I'd really like to see a new Muppet attraction, and the Indy ride would also be a good addition. As far as the pooh playground, I would love to see a new E-ticket attraction built there. Maybe Fire/Bald Mountain, but who knows. Also, I would hate to see anything happen to the Great Movie ride, that is a must do every time I'm there. Classic Disney ::yes::

I wouldn't mind hearing plans for a new Muppet attraction, but it really would have to be done just right. The only thing I would be willing to give up the current 3D movie for would be another 3D movie but like Shrek

at Universal. It's a 3D mechanical ride- Muppets meets Star Tours meets Philharmagic. The seats are just like those on the old Flight Simulator ride at Six Flags Great Adventure, there are smells and it's just a really great ride. If Disney could come up with something like that for the Muppets, I'd be all for it.

Yeah no way are most of those rumors true. I assume by "Pooh Ride" they mean Pooh's thoughtful spot. The area is definitely and a Nice ride could replace it someday. However, I doubt they do it for a few years.

I would think the Indy show is a goner based on the new stunt. Why have 2? MGM also needs some rides for littler kids. Like a Monster Inc dark ride or something.

North America would be great for AK. Or maybe just the Americas and throw in an Amazon exhibit. We're still waiting for some type of dragon ride.

The swiss family tree house being changed to tarzans house is probably right. We go the kids the magic kingdom game and one card is listed as tarzans house with a picture of the swiss family spot.

As far as the GMR, there is some truth in that. I had heard that with the loss of MGM and Graumans rights, it would have to be replaced or changed. That is one of the reasons for the stupid hat. A new icon for the park.

I also heard that with the new muppets addition that Jim Henson's daughter was working on a new build-a-bear type store but featuring Muppets.

I also heard about the possibilty of a new indoor rollercoaster for Monster's Inc.

The first rumour I heard while working at GMR, the other two I read in a newseletter or something. Does anyone know where I read that?

agotta,

Here is the Build a Muppet story and the Monsters, Inc. roller coaster rumor in the same article:

As for the Magic Kingdom game, it is sold at both DL and WDW and is very careful not to specify which MK it represents. It has a mix of some things at DL and some at WDW. For example, it has some things only at DL (Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Autopia, Tarzan Treehouse) and some things only at WDW (Tiki Room Under New Management, Winnie the Pooh in Fantasyland). Point being that just because they have Tarzan at DL doesn't necessarily mean they will change it at WDW.

I've just read the unoffical guide. Most of the rumors mentioned in the OP are in the book and quoted by Jim Hill.

I mention this only to make folks aware of the source. I don't know Jim Hill from a pile of beans.

Having ridden the Indy ride at DL, I can safely say it's almost a clone of Dinosaur at AK - except that the Indy ride has much much longer queues. I don't think it would make sense to have the same ride in 2 parks.

I hate the hat, and it's purpose became less apparent when we were there over Christmas. Last year, it was a wonderful spot to buy pins and trade. DD had a great time, and I was even able to get a pin set that was unavailable in all of the other parks as well as DTD. This year, much more "junk" and far fewer pins and virtually no trading. Even the CMs were uninterested.

We couldn't even get on GMR because the wait was too long, even at park closing. I can't imagine them dumping a ride that clearly still attracts the crowds, even if they aren't "MGM" anymore.

Indy and Dinosaur are no more the same ride than Star Tours and Body Wars, Small World and El Rio Del Tiempo, etc. Just because they use the same ride system does not make them the same attractions.

Plus, the Indy ride came first so your logic is backwards.

Only the track layout is identical.
