My wife and I are thinking of going to WDW in mid January. We've been to Disney a few times, but we just moved from Ontario to Edmonton. Does anyone know approximately what airfare from Edmonton to Orlando is? Also, what are the hours for the parks? I know that it's low season so they won't be open as long as spring break. In the past we've stayed on site, but I'm thinking of getting a hotel outside of Disney (they're usually cheaper and nicer). Would it be worth staying at a Disney resort so we can take advantage of the early openings, or because it's low season will that really matter? I'm also thinking of renting a car but I can't find the cost for parking, does anyone know the daily rate? Man I sound like a newbie here, it's not like I've been to WDW 7 times already.

Thanks

We flew from Edmonton to Orlando last Christmas for about $400 plus tax on America West. The good thing about America West is that they connect in Phonenix or Las Vegas from Edmonton - less chance of being caught in a blizzard at an airport in the East. Just keep watching for a seat sale. We stayed at Pop Century for $49/night (U.S.). Watch these boards for room codes for January. It was cheaper than staying offsite and much more convenient. I think parking is $8 per day.

Hey, thanks for the info. I've stayed at the Pop Century before, and my wife and I are thinking of staying at a nicer hotel. The one's a Disney seem to run at $200 and up, which is out of our budget, but I've found some good deals outside of Disney so that's why I'm considering staying off-site.

Two years ago, we flew from Edmonton to Orlando for about $500 on Air Canada (jumped on a seat sale). We stayed offsite at Comfort Suites Maingate for approx. $80/night CAD. This year, we're flying NWA **shudder** for the same price (we booked too late) and staying at Pop Century.

Westjet had a great deal a while ago out of Calgary, but we didn't jump on it. Keep your eyes peeled for deals.
