Lots of Questions about WDW Dining Plan...

Hey all,
Well...we are going to WDW in October and missing the dining plan option but with the way everyone is talking about it I am thinking maybe we should buy the package with that option...

However, I do have a few questions...

1. Is it a good bargain? We are going for 11 days/10 nights and I am thinking our food bills will skyrocket!
2. How does it work for a 1yr old??? DS will be 4 so we will pay for him, but DD will only be 14 mo. I am thinking DS will share some of his meals with her, but there are times when I cannot believe how much he can stuff in. Will we have to pay for her if we need to order her a seperate meal?

I think that is it FOR NOW! hehe I always have a lot of questions!

At buffets and family style restaurants, your dd will eat for free (her own plate and beverage, as much as she wants). At regular table service restaurants, if you want her to have her own meal, you will need to pay for it out of pocket (usually around $5 or so + beverage). But keep in mind that if you're using your credits for all 3 of you at a TS meal, you'll have 3 entrees, at least 2, and possibly 3 appetizers and 3 desserts. That's a lot of food! At CS restaurants, you could use your 3 credits to buy 3 adult meals to split between you (though you might have to go through 2 separate lines to get all 3, since your plan will show 2 adults and 1 child). Those will also include 3 desserts--still a lot of food! It could end up being a real money-saver, and I doubt you'd ever feel like you didn't have enough food!

We will have to pay adult prices for DGD x 2 aged 11 I think the cost is about $38 a day and DGS 5 will be about $12 a day. He has to seleect from kids menu when offered, but as he LOVESmac & cheese this is no problem DGD's are thrilled that they can order steak. If you check out the menus you will see it is a good deal. It includes the meal( appetizer, entree & dessert, and drink) for table service,. There are lots of character meals that are on the plan. Hope this helps.

1. Is it a good bargain? YES we were ther in may I kept all our reciepts the total for our DP was 433. if we paid out of pocket for it it would have been 746.

I would do the dining plan. We went to WDW in April and payed for the dining plan. Out trip included myself, DH, and DD (celebrated her 2nd birthday). We ate at the Coral Reef during our trip, just our dinner there was $125., that wasn't including our snack for the day or our counter service meal for that day also, it sure made it worth the $76. we paid for the dining plan for just that day. I would never go back to WDW without the dining plan. It cost us $456. for our whole trip and it was totally worth it. We had soooo much food, but it also allowed us to try places and things that we wouldn't have normally done. Oh, don't worry, you willl have plenty of food to share with your 14 month old. Another benefit of the dining plan is that you don't need to budget for the food, just your souveniers and a few other things which makes iit really nice. A family could get away with spending less than $500. on the rest of their trip with having the dining plan. We are going back to WDW in Sept. (bcause of the free dining) and are plannning in taking around $500. spending money. The difference in the cost of my trip in April compared to my trip in Sept. is about $750. in savings for the same amount of days, and this trip we are also taking our DS (22 yrs old) with us this time.
