Hi We are booked for Nov (NJ vacation week) lol So many question booking was easy and I don't have a lot of time in the day to sit on the phone so if anyone can help answer any of theses question for me I would appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance :)

1 Does Disney have any deals for airfare? We need to fly from NJ to HI

2 Do you really need to schedule all of your meals? I don't want to make reservations for all of our meals. When we go to Disney World we eat when hungry. Wish they offered a meal plan.

3 How do you get from the airport to the resort? Do we call a taxi or does Disney bus you like the Magical Express?

4 Is there somewhere we could buy food for our room?

If anyone could add any other tips please feel free. We are a party of 9 going.

Thanks everyone!!!!!

NO

YES (just make it, you can cancel anytime; Aulani would actually call you a few days prior to confirm your dining reservation).

There are no disney bus, you can taxi or call affordable taxi service (I think some people have posted their experiences with variety of vendors; I have used A-8 in the past). If you plan to visit different places on the island say Waikiki, North shore, PCC, etc, I recommend just renting a car. Self parking is free for DVC members.

4 Is there somewhere we could buy food for our room?

Yes, Costco, Walmart and supermarket on the way to the resort (need a car)

We just returned from an 8 night stay at Aulani. Simply wonderful.

Nope. We booked 11 months in advance using airline miles. I noticed that in general, airfares were lowest when booked well in advance. If you fly out of Newark, United has a non-stop each way (which is how we went).

No meal plan. We made reservations about two months before traveling for meals and the spa.

We rented a car. We checked every couple of weeks for deals and finally found one about two months before travel. Originally, I had reserved a mid-size for about $650 for two weeks. (We spent a few days in Waikiki before Aulani). But, about two months before our travel date Alamo offered deals via Costco Travel. We could have gotten a mid-size for $300 but opted for a convertable for just under $400 for two weeks. The Costco deal was only available for a couple of weeks. As an aside, Costco also had a better rate at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (where we stayed), but by the time I was ready to book the rate was gone.

A couple of good places accross the street. An ABC store and a place with plate lunches that was quite good. There was also a taco place (sit down) that we did not try.

Wow thanks for the answers to my question.. You guys are great and help make planning so much easier. Thanks so much again
