Hellooo,
I'm really sorry for how late this (frankly poor) trip report is... I'd make excuses about finishing college and coursework and stuff but if I don't start this TR now I probably never will...
We had a wonderful time, and I feel silly for worrying over Newport Bay because it was lovely...
So this is going to be really rubbish because it's been so long and I can hardly remember what I ate today never mind nearly 4 weeks ago... So it's mainly going to be a load of photos, but oh well... =)
Anyway on with the trip report I'll give you a bit of background info since that seems to be the way to go..
I visited Disneyland 4 times between the ages of 7 and 12 and have missed it everyday ever since... So for my 18th birthday my amazing mummy paid for me and boyfriend to have a 6 day/ 5 night trip, yes she is amazing I told you..
I guess I'll start with who we are..
ME (Annie) - 18 year old Media Student.. I love all things Disney... Would quite happily be 5 again (would make no difference to me mentally anyway)... Love Chip & Dale and Snow White... In fact I wish I was Snow White...
DBF (Russell) - 20 at Uni studying Graphic Design.. Has a hard time putting up with me talking about all things Disney almost every second of the day... Treats me like a princess most of the time, except when he's in a moody (he gets those a lot).. Doesn't like food... Claims to "hate disney" (except monsters inc and nemo) but has come along to please me...
Our hotel of choice: Newport Bay Club (Admirals Floor).. Well we ended up with this one because everything else was booked up for our arrival night. I had wanted to stay at sequoia lodge because I have so many amazing memories there... But Newport Bay Club it was, and I was pretty happy with that, it was something new to experiance and I'd studied every photo I could get my hands on and all seemed well... That was, of course, until I began to find bad reviews and that got my nerves up...
Travel of Choice - Eurostar yayyy!
Soo...
Day 1
We'd stayed in London the night before but I got us up and down in the lobby by 8 I think... Well whatever time it was Russell was so not happy to be awake...
So off we set off to get dropped off at Waterloo, mum appointed me map reader, biiiiig mistake! I'm rubbish, I just pretended to follow the line and know where we are... After a couple of wrong turns and what not we managed to get there... Mum walked us to the gates and told me what to do and how it all works (I've not been abroad since my last Disney trip or on holiday at all actually so yeah very nervous).. Anyway I said bye to my mum and got through the ticket gates and had to bite back tears because I already missed my mum (pathetic I know but it's only us at home), then I felt silly (I always cry) and got over myself... Anyway all went well, found the check in desk and the man asked me if I knew what to do when I got there, well I just resited everything I'd read on here about it... And yes completely right...
So we're on the train I go and get a fruit salad, was a ridiculous amount of money but the only thing I could have not too bothered though... Russell had his ham sandwhiches and crisps.... A little side story not there that hasn't been enough warbling already and we're not even at DLRP yet, but basically Russell eats very very little, and the main thing he does eat is ham sandwhiches and crisps, but not any ham sandwhiches, it has to be white bread, flora (no other margerine) and ONLY (the most important one) Marks and Spencer's extra lean sliced ham, nothing else will do... So anyway the train ride was uneventful got excited when I could see space mountain, and then soon enough we were off the train and at the station... Dropped the luggage off and headed for the parks YAYY!
So we get in I start snapping pics and I almost cry (again) because I'm sooo happy, but then I hear "I need to the loo"... Yes Russell has the innappropriate timing, the character express is departing through the gates and he need the loo! How rude! But I oblige let him go and wait patiently as the train goes by...
=(
So he's soon out and we walk down main street...
So there we are walking with the castle in the distance.. So here's me I wanna go see the castle, who cares about the crowds I'M AT DISNEYLAND!... But Russell interupted with "I wanna go get a fast pass!" it seems like he had decided to listen to some of my ramblings and was actually keen on doing something, so I figured lets go get them for BTM.. The best ride obviously, and it's probably a much better idea than wading through all these crowds so off we went...
In frontierland the camera decided to shoot black and whites... Fair Enough...
I think our fastpass time was for about 5.30.. So we ventured of to Adventure Isle...
Did some walking & Russell munched on the last of his sandwhiches:
We rode Pirates of the carribean, Russell didn't like the queue it was "too long" and then when we got into the boat it was "all that for a boat ride"... That was until we went up and he realised that we must go down... It did go over quite well.. I loved it, bummer that the swinging man doesn't work... Weird how I remember that from so long ago...
So after our first disney ride we were reminded when we stepped outside that we really were in the carribean thanks to a tropical
lmao: ) downpour... Now being the sensible people we are we waited in the gift shop for the rain to stop and then proceeded to our next destination completely dry and feeling very clever.. HAHA.. Yeah right, we happened to be the only people stupid enough to leg it out across the bridge and over to Hakuna Matata... Needless to say we were definatly not completely dry nor were we feeling very clever... All I could do was laugh... We looked absoloutly ridiculous I wish i had a photo to show but I don't
... Anyway we shared some chips....
We walked over to fantasy land and caught a bit of Merlin in action...
And then headed out of the park to check in to newport bay... Now this was fun... Got over to admirals check in had a lovely CM was very quick, got given our room number sorted our luggage to be sent up there... Everything's going great.. So we get up to the 5th level only to realise that our room doesn't actually exist
...And not only does it definalty not exist our luggage is on it's way to said non existant room
...
So back down to the check in we go, I speak to the lovely CM again, and can't stop apologising I laugh and say don't worry about it.. He explains that as it was my birthday they had upgraded us to admirals floor with lake view so he'd got confused and put down 5 instead of 6... I told him not to worry but our luggage must be lost somewhere, he went to speak to someone and said it would be up in 10 mins and if it wasn't in 15 then to call down...
So we head up to our room... I love it!
Our view:
Anyway 25 minutes later our luggage still hadn't arrived
... So I decided to go down and sort it out, because Russell was too scared.. Haha!
Anyway someone had got confused along the way and I ended up talking to 3 different people and sorting it out... I wasn't too bothered, a bit annoying but nothing terrible! 5 mins later the luggage is there, another 5 my hair is straightened and we;'re back off to the park t make our BTM fastpass..
We wondered around the park, we may have rode Space Mountain I can't remember... Then we went to the sports bar (Disney Village) and shared the turkey baguette meal (I had the sarnie Russell had the chips).. Then went back to the hotel to pick up some money and then went for a walk to try and find the garage to pick up some orange squash and crisps and stuff (Russell supplies basically)...
Took some photos on the way:
We found it, was a really nice walk except the very last bit we got supplies, we got back to the hotel and watched some disney channel, worked out the wake up call... And passed out dreaming disney dreams...
Phew, that was long, I doubt the rest of the days will be...
