I always assumed Kate's crime was robbing that bank...what did I miss that it is something more?

When she robbed the bank, she got the toy airplane out of the box. Then in another flashback, we saw her childhood friend help sneak her in the hospital to see her mom. Her mom was heavily guarded with security, so we know Kate's original crime happened before then. It was also this same flashback that her childhood friend was shot and killed and we saw the toy airplane.

What if Ana Lucia and Kate's past are connected? We know Ana Lucia is in law enforcement, maybe she was involved with Kate's original crime? That would be interesting.

Also about the toy plane, Kate and her friend dug it up, it was in a box buried under a big tree. I think they buried it as a kind of time capsule.

Oh, I forgot, I heard a commercial on the radio and in it I heard a woman's voice say something like Where are the children, they took the children. Then AL's voice asking which direction they went in. I wonder if one of the children was her's.
