I am very afraid for Sawyer, but I did think of something after seeing next week's previews. What if the baby is the castmember who doesn't die but won't be back... Doesn't Claire say "she took my baby" in the previews for next week.
Just a thought...

And didn't the french woman say they took her baby too.....
Too weird. And that 'black rock'. Totally took me by surprise. I thought it had something to do with that Rock that Locke had... hummmm.

Last night's episode was awesome. I was listening to my local morning show on the radio and they are really into LOST too. They have heard that the radio transmission that Boone made on the plane when he died was to the survivors of the plane crash. Boone said we are the survivors of flight (I forget the number) and they said no we are the survivors.

I bet this girl that Jack met at the airport is with the lady's husband on another part of the island. Wouldn't that be a cool twist. Maybe the hatch leads to them. Maybe its a Parallel island or another part of the island.

This show is just so cool how you have to pay attention to the smallest details and then later on they make sense. Its also so cool how everyone had all these strange connections to each other. Like Hurley being on the TV while Jin was at the guys house roughing him up.

I too was totally blindsided by the "black Rock". Also the monster being a security system was a different spin on it.

How hot did Jack's tattoo look last night when he was pushing the raft?

I know a lot of you don't like him, but M. Fox is such a good actor. That would have been a hard scene to do (when Sawyer told him about his dad), and he was great in it.

I think Sawyer and the rest will end up on another island nearby, maybe? And we will know it, but the original islanders won't. Then maybe it will split the stories between the two, or maybe they will reunite sometime next season.

Nope! I was totally blindsided by it too. I posted this on the other thread, but someone said the type of ship is called a snow and dates back to the 16-19th centuries. That makes things even stranger because the ship was in pretty good condition to be sitting out there for hundreds of years.

Did anyone notice the name Black Rock on the ship? I read it was there, but I couldn't make the words out when I ran the tape back. Several people on another board looked at their digital recordings and said they could read it.

I had the same thought.... And didn't the french woman say they took her baby too.....

She said she delivered the baby herself and had her for a week when they came and took her. Now, why do the others want babies?


Now, about the plume of black smoke. Anyone want to guess what they think it is?

I'm just hoping this isn't a Pirates of the Carribean type deal where the "others" are only visable in daylight and disappear under the moon (or was it the other way around).

I love the show but I'd love some answers more.

Yesterday's show was awesome!

Sawyer was drop-dead hot! (no pun intended!!!) He needs to stick around and get all sweaty again. Hoowee!

Wasn't there a spoiler last week or so that said Jack was going to start up with a new love interest? Why did they introduce that woman at the airport bar? It has to be because she's with the other survivors and they are about to discover the other set of survivors. That's what I think anyway.

Last night I was thinking about these "others" and remembering that the show producers said everything is based on probable things. So what if the "others" are some primitive form of humans? Not caveman or anything but more african bushman kinda-thing. Humans that have had no contact with the outside world? Wouldn't taking a baby be in-line with this? Along the lines of virgin/human sacrifices of ancient civilizations? Smoke was also used as a form of communication back then.

That pirate ship...is that the ship Danielle came in on?

So Danielle's baby was a girl? I guess that rules out Ethan being her son.

There was also a spoiler about an upcoming explosion...I remember since I was thinking maybe there a volcano on the island but it probably refers to them getting the dynamite and using it.

And again...no preview for next week! Can someone fill me in please?

I would say it is something other than wood burning, maybe another part of the airplane. I seem to remember something about black smoke is given off by chemicals and white smoke is given off by natural sources like wood.

The preview for next week seemed like lots would happen...very chaotic! Looks like a fight between Charlie and Sayid. Claire is crying and says "She took my baby." That raft picks up a blip on the radar meaning someone/thing is out there. They show Sawyer jumping off the raft and diving into the water, but of course we don't know why. That's all I remember off of the top of my head.

Sandy, great thoughts as usual. I always look forward to seeing what you thought about the show.
Anyway, there was some sort of spoiler about Jack and the airport girl. I went back last night to try to find it for the other thread and it's gone. I'm sure it's posted in this thread somewhere, but I have an appointment and don't have time to look for it right now, but from what I remember it was more than just the interaction we've seen with her and Jack so far. I agree that she is probably on another part of the island or a nearby island.

Your idea about the others is good too. I don't know how Ethan would fit into that but there could be an explanation. I just feel like he must be an other since he kidnapped Claire (for her baby) and tried to kill Charlie.
But, the last scene where they go back to the smoke, there's something in the left hand corner of the screen (bottom) near the smoke. Some think it's an older, native type man with a spear. Other people think it's a roof or something. I'll post a pic when I get back.

Does anyone remember seeing Jin in any of the preview shots???? We know Sawyer and Michael make it back to the island....but does Jin??? I'd sure hate to loose him (well, I don't want to loose any of our main characters).
