lost ticket question...

My daughter's high school marching band is making a short stop at WDW during the week after Easter. It has been their tradition to hand out the tickets on the outside of the park and then collect them once the kids are through the gate to avoid lost tickets. Of course my first thought is that they won't be able to take advantage of the Fast Pass system!

I'm going to a band booster meeting tonight. What exactly would happen if one of the kids lost their ticket? If I were to make copies of all the tickets could they get a replacement? I'm just looking for some possible solutions.

I know that someone in this group must have lost a ticket and figured out a way to solve the problem.

Thanks,

Sher

if you have copies then they should replace them if they are lost. there is a number on the back that they can track how many days are left on it. check out www.mousesavers.com she has this info on her site. have a great trip!

Yup, the number on the back near the bottom is what you will need to copy. Talked to a chaperone of a group last week who had to go through all 50 tickets to find the one missing.

Definitely want the kids to be able to have them during the day for Fastpasses!!!!

Here's a way to teach some discipline and responsibility:

Having a chaperone suggests that the kids are quite young. Those members who wish to may take their tickets with them would have to leave a cash deposit, say three dollars, with the chaperone. If a ticket was lost the child forfeits the deposit and is given a lecture about how next time (places other than Disney) a lost ticket may be gone for good.

We just returned from a week at WDW. Definately copy the back of the tickets. That is probably the best piece of advice I have gotten from reading these boards. Upon entering the MK, DH and I turned around to find that DD (21 yrs. old) was no longer with us. A quick scan of the crowd and there she was on the other side of the turnstile frantically searching her bag for her park hopper. Ah, but not Tto worry, DH had the copy of the tickets in his wallet. Over to guest services and in less than a minute the CM has keyed in her park pass number and a new ticket with the remaining admissions was in her hand. PHOTOCOPYING THE BACK OF YOUR TICKET IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST ADVICE OF ALL THE WONDERFUL HINTS AND TIPS ON THESE BOARDS!!!!!!

an update on the lost ticket discussion....the band kids will not be given their park passes to keep because having the pass would allow them to park hop. This way, if they leave the park they are supposed to be in they can't get back in and will be clearly in trouble. I hadn't thought of that and I can see how the danger of having a kid away from the group outweighs the benefits of fast pass.

Thanks for the advice. I did pass along the tip to photocopy the passes.

That's too bad. It's such a crowded time of year. They may not get to ride much without fastpasses. :(

Sher - that's a great idea....no fast passes for them, though...the poor chaperone would be going nuts plugging them all in
