LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

I enjoyed tonights episode but it left me with too many questions! How do the others know so much about our friends from the plane crash? :confused3

I guess if you believe that they did indeed have contact with the outside world and knew about the plane crash, they could have easily learned who was on the plane and gathered information. :confused3 That's about all I've come up with.

Did you get this idea from the preview for next week? What made you think that?

Now I'm trying to remember everything that was in the preview!

The preview did say, words to the effect, and "one of the survivors has been working with the Others all along" Maybe someone else remembers the exact wording, but it did lead me to believe someone was an Other.

So who could it be? Maybe Claire? The others had her for a while, maybe they converted her to their side.

Oh yeah about..."the box." Are we talking about an actual BOX or some sort of metaphor? That would explain how things that people were thinking about seemed to "appear" (the polar bear, the horse, Jack's dad).

And if they do appear why worry about Locke blowing up the sub, couldn't they just imagine up another one???:confused3

Sawyer said "they were working with the others". I don't think that someone is an actual "other", but a survivor who was recruited.

Ok, that probably makes more sense, since everyone has been shown to have been on the plane.

These were things "imagined' on the island, a sub would have to leave the confines of the island area. So it probably wouldn't be able to go very far before it would "poof".

Next week looks very interesting. As far as the Man from Tallahassee being Sawyer I think he is. He's the con man that ruined Sawyers life that he has been looking for all along. It seems to convientient but at some point we have to start turning the tide on the whole Lost story and start heading toward some answers so I think some of answers won't be as complicated as we're used to. Also from reading other boards about lost I have these questions for you. In the scene from Locke's apartment it has been speculated that he has a framed set of patches on his wall that suggest that he was in the Military special forces which could explain his knowledge of knives, guns, and explosives. I mean really if you happened to find a block of c-4 with the detonator could you rig it to explode on a time delay the way he did with the submarine last night? Also on the subject of the submarine, did he really blow it up? I mean when they found him on the peir he was soaking wet suggesting he had been in the water for some reason. Could'nt he have just set the charge inside the sub and done as much damage? Or did he pilot the sub somewhere else and then blow up the pier to make it look like he sank the sub? He would have got wet swimming back to the pier from wherever he stashed the sub.

Finally I will throw this out there. Most of the thoughts on last nights show came from discussions on the Fuselodge Message boards for Lost and if you sign up over there you can access the Spoiler section of their site. I looked at the spoiler for last nights episode on Monday, and low and behold they had a post that took you through the episode step by step and accuratly previewed the entire thing. So if you really can't wait week to week, sign up and take a look, but be warned it will give you a blow by blow descpiption of that weeks show. I'm not sure when they post each weeks spoiler deluxe but I do know this weeks was up on Monday two days before the show.

Have fun.

What's the link to this message board, please..... thanks

Did anyone notice that Jack has a new tattoo? I wonder if it's something I missed, but it was huge and red on the underside of his arm.

I thought that episode ROCKED! I gasped out loud like 3 times! It was the first Jack and the Others episode that I really liked.

I wonder if the "box" has something to do with the smoke monster? Since people have seen things in the smoke about their lives. I wonder if it's sort of the "box" gone bad or something?

And I loved all of the talk about Locke being more connected to the island than Ben. Thought it was very interesting. And if ben was telling the truth, he revealed a lot on information!

The patches would be cool if that's true, but his flashbacks lead one to believe his dad taught him all the hunting stuff (he was rather bumbling at first). Tho that doesn't explain the c4 at all, so :confused3

Yes, I think he blew it up. I clearly saw the sub on the pier and that it took more damage than the pier seemed to, though I also wondered why he was wet, I'm sure they did it for a reason.

Are we to assume now that is in fact John's father? I thought when John found out he was conned into giving his kidney, that he may not have been his actual father, but both the police and Ben said your father pushed you out the window. I don't remember ever seeing that it was proven he was his father.:confused3

It should be up tomorrow.

I need to go back and find the episode of Hurley talking to his accountant. Remember someone falling past the big window? I wonder if his accountant's office is in that building and that was Locke? I'm having a tough time recalling the timeline of Hurley's big lottery win and if that would fit, 4 years.

Doesn't make sense that a luxury apartment would be in the same building as accounting offices. JMO.

My question, did John know that Ben was playing him and went along with it to achieve his goal, or did he only figure it out afterwards?

It was confirmed at some point. I don't remember exactly, but he really is his father.

I remember his father telling him after the whole kidney thing that he didn't think that John would give it to him if he really knew about him, so he played nice. I think Locke's mom...oh! when John confronts his mom, she tells him that "he's really your father" and basically, you should give him your kidney no matter what.

I know this still sounds wishy-washy, but I remember it be a sure thing.

Hurley's jumper was wearing a white shirt and went down face first, Locke was wearing a green shirt and went down backside first.

I think it was a little of both. I don't think he knew exactly why Ben was letting him do it, but he was so focused on the task that he didn't care. But Ben did tell him that Jack was taking the boat and not coming back, so he should've been smart enough to sort of figure it out.

I loved the episode, but seriously the commercial breaks are ruining the show for me- one scene and then a commercial is a too extreme. As soon as you get into the LOST zone you're interrupted and you gotta wait for them to end then do it all over again, only to be interrupted again... :furious:

Vent over... I wonder how Sun found out that Charlie and Sawyer were behind her attack, next week looks good!
