LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

For WHAT? It isn't a holiday!!! For crying out loud. What the heck!! :badpc:

and the next week too right?!

Three repeats in a row.... Yuck!

I think it's only supposed to be two repeats. I read on TVGuide.com that the reason they put on the repeats like this so early is so that they can run four new shows in a row during November sweeps.

Correct-o-mundo, bigmerle You'll see that new episodes get 'saved up' for Feb/March and May sweeps also. Thay have to make those 22 (usually) espisodes s-t-r-e-a-c-h.

I think in the old days they used to show like 35 episodes, I miss those days :guilty:

Here is the thing from TVGuide.com. It was a question posted in the Ask Ausiello section.

Simply put: ABC wanted to air four originals during sweeps instead of just three. And the only way they could accomplish this was by inserting two repeats. Don't shoot the messenger. The messenger is good.

Good Messenger!!! :)

For those of you who have not been to the TV Guide website it is really great. They have something called the Watercooler, which is where they have people who comment on the shows from the night before. Some of the reviewers are hillarious.

I can't understand the logic with how they do the shows. Some are five new, two old, one new, three old, etc. No rhyme or reason. Why can't they just do a bigger block of on and off?

I think Lost had 24 episodes in Season 1.

I honestly don't mind the re-runs. It gives me a much needed TV break once in a while.

I think I read something that said that this year they are going to have 25 shows this season. If that's true

Repeates for the next two weeks...

It was because of the World Series. But now that it's over, I was thinking possibly they won't be repeats anymore. But I suppose that won't happen.
Wishful thinking! :umbrella:

Here's something spooky for you. I was just on imdb.com reading stuff about Lost. On the quotes page they have what is written on the back of the picture Sayid had of that woman.

Nadia: [written on back of photograph] You'll find me in the next life, if not this one.

And Desmond tells Jack he will see him in another life. :earseek:

Well, I got my LOST costume all set! I'm sort of being John Locke. I have a stuffed pig I spray painted black to become a boar and tied a rope around it and cut it with a pair of scissors and put fake blood on it. Then I have a pair of khakis and I put a fake "bloody knife" I got at Walgreens in the belt. Finally I took an old white t-shirt and wrote "LOST" in fake blood and then "Wed. 8 PM ABC" in the corner. Then used an excessive amount of blood all over. Also I am going to rub some dirt on the shirt.

And last but not least I am going to not shave or shower tommorow (so I smell authentic!) and make a scar that crosses my right eye with blood. And might as well use up the rest of the fake blood on my hands and face.

So pretty much I am a very modified (and bloody) Johh Locke aka Boar Hunter.

I doubt anyone will know who I am but this was pretty much an excuse to use as much fake blood as possible :rotfl2:

Cool :cool1: You definitely have to post pictures :)

I went dressed as Sawyer - just took off my shirt :rotfl2:

A LOST book series? Stephen King? Has to be.

ABC hit 'Lost' to spin off cross-promotional novel

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The ABC television network and sister publishing label Hyperion Books are taking the concept of product placement into a new direction -- by turning an imaginary product into a real one.

Producers of ABC's mega-hit castaway thriller "Lost" plan to introduce a new storyline centering on the discovery of a fictitious manuscript that will become the basis for a real-life novel that Hyperion will publish this spring.

The book will then be promoted as the work of an author, named Gary Troup, who supposedly delivered the manuscript to Hyperion days before perishing in the show's stage-setting event, a plane crash that maroons a group of survivors on a spooky island.

Plans for the convoluted cross-promotion, first reported on Tuesday by Hollywood trade publication Daily Variety, were confirmed by a spokeswomen for Hyperion and production studio Touchstone Television, which like ABC, are owned by the Walt Disney Co.

Advertisers have increasingly explored novel product-placement schemes in the face of new technologies that allow TV viewers to skip over conventional commercials when watching their favorite shows.

But Variety said the "Lost" book tie-in may be the first to use imaginary TV events and characters as the basis for a real-life marketing campaign.

As part of the plan, Hyperion said it has commissioned a "well-known" mystery writer to anonymously adapt the fictitious manuscript into an actual, printed book it hopes will automatically appeal to the show's large and loyal following.

"Fans of the show are obsessive. We think a lot of them will be buying the book just to look for clues" to the series, Hyperion President Bob Miller told Variety.

The "Lost" novel, titled "Bad Twin," is described as a private eye mystery about a wealthy heir's search for his evil sibling.

"Lost," one of the several surprise hits that helped ABC bounce back from a lengthy ratings slump last season, currently ranks as the fourth most-watched show on U.S. television, averaging more than 20 million viewers a week.

I received an email from Creation Entertainment about this Lost fan club kit. For $27.95 you get a t-shirt, fan club DVD, 2 bumper stickers, trading card, 4 cast photos, oceanic boarding pass, oceanic frequent flyer card, oceanic black bag and a Charlie "missing" poster. Didn't know if any of you would be interested, but I thought this would be the place to post the information. Here is the link http://www.creationent.com/lost/index2.htm . Creation is the same company that did the first Lost convention (they are best known for doing Star Trek and Sci-Fi conventions). Also, looks like you can buy other Lost stuff from Creation.

I need help.

I searched the thread for the discussion on the Season 1 DVD and couldn't find it. I know we talked about the Best Buy version versus others. Can someone please remind me what was on the Best Buy version that was not on other versions? I got the DVD as a birthday present. My wife could not find it in Best Buy, so I want to know what I am missing. Thanks.
